Unfortunately my lengthy period of unrestricted gaming has come to an end, as i am being BOMBARDED with assignments, and have lost much of my precious gaming
time and am now restricted to playing Flash games and episodic adventure games like Strongbad's cool game and Sam and Max.
Speaking of Strongbad's cool game, i picked up the whole of season one and i am very much enjoying it and highly recommend it!
I also downloaded some new left 4 dead Maps i will particularly recommend a map called Hang Um High, which is a survival map that is apparently based on A Halo map.
So my new plan is to pick up a large number of cheap budget games and create a stockpile of games to enjoy after the metaphorical war is over.
So far my stockpile features two games-
-Universe at war:Earth assault
-KOTOR 2
What are some other cheap games i can add to my stockpile?

Happy Monday, everyone.
I decided to spend this weekend playing anything and everything possible so here's a rundown.
So that's what I did this weekend.

I decided to spend this weekend playing anything and everything possible so here's a rundown.
- Several hours of Mega Man 9. I've beat Dr. Wily and that should be enough, right? Achievements, baby! I've got about 40% of them now and I'm shooting for a much higher percentage. And yes, I'm actually going to try the Mr. Perfect achievement, but I'm not guaranteeing anything.
- Some Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I haven't touched the game in a few months, but when people are around and Brawl is out in plain sight, someone is going to want to play, right?
- A little Braid. My brother's birthday was this weekend and I decided to hijack his 360 and download 2 games. Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved was the first game and I'll recommend he get the sequel at some point, but it was Braid that got the most play. It's a brilliant game... excellent puzzles, beautiful graphics, and a great story. He loves it, too... and this is a guy that owns mostly shooters and RPGs.
- A little Strong Bad. I downloaded Episode 1 again (that storage fix can't come too soon) and playing through it for like the fourth time, this time for a walkthrough I'm working on for a little site called Giant Bomb. Maybe you've heard of it?
So that's what I did this weekend.

Never underestimate this Tim, either.

I'm a convert. Mega Man 9, new songs on Rock Band, and Wipeout HD. Best 30 bucks you can spend on games (well.. besides getting Persona 3:FES).
I didn't quite beat Mega Man 9. Got to the first skull stage in the Dr. Wiley parts. I assume that there are two skull stages, since that's how the old Mega Man games were. It's like saying that probably "the princess is in another castle". (ps. my Mega Man 9 guide was mentioned by Jeff in this blog post. It's going to break a 1,000 views by tonight. How aweomse is that! Long live teh internets). Wipeout HD is better than it's ever been. And I'm not exaggerating. It's been kind of bad for a while... since Wipeout XL, in fact. But now that it's in HD, you can actually see the track. What a difference! I love racing games. Besides Flatout 2 and the Gran Turismo series, I think Wipeout HD is my new favorite racer. It's a little tough at first (though nothing like GT), but you really can gain skill in it quickly. Custom playlists are awesome, and trophies are kinda fun, too.
I also really enjoy the games I got for my bday. House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return is a good port of the arcade game (with extra modes), and I would say the best light gun game for the Wii, of the ones that I've played (others are Ghost Squad, Resident Evil). I like those games in the arcade and it's great to be able to play em anytime and with infinite continues if I want. Dragon Quest IV is really good, too. I always underestimate the Dragon Quest games. They always seem too "kiddy" from the box art and graphics, but they really are fun. The music is quite addicting like Final Fantasy. It's like being in a casino and hearing all the jingles and rattling. You wanna do whatever you can to hear it again... like beating the next monster. Btw, no I don't have a gambling problem, lol.
I'm looking to get Bomberman on WiiWare soon, too. Let me know if anyone has it and their impressions of the game. I never played bomberman before, but after seeing a tournament back on gamespot I really thought it looked good and that I could get into it. One game I'm not liking that much is Episode 1 of Strongbad on WiiWare. I keep getting to spots where I'm not sure where I go next or who I'm supposed to talk to. And it's not like this is a very puzzling game like Zork or Myst. It should be obvious how I can speed through it, I hoped. But I guess that's not the case. And playing an adventure game with a game guide defeats the whole point of playing. So I'm not too enthused about continuing in that episodic adventure, even if the second one is supposed to be better. The point-and-click doesn't work as well as the PC, too.
I played a little bit of The Witcher, which I d/l'd through steam. I <3 steam. I hope to never have to use a CD Key again. Anyways, the graphics aren't as good as they're cracked up to be, and I haven't played long enough to really get into the dialogue. So I can't give you accurate first impressions on the story yet. But the combat seems simple and slightly more interesting than Diablo. Which isn't saying much. But I can already see the sex appeal of this game. Now if they would just stop cutting between the hot ladies and old Middle-Earth-looking old dudes with bears, that would be great. If you're going that direction, why go half-way? Ps. the PC is running it quite well on high settings.

I don't think we're in Kansas any more. We talk about the weather in our areas this week. Plus, Jason helps a friend level jump in Call of Duty 4 and joins the Galaga Legion. Then, Steven grabs a flamethrower in Team Fortress 2 and becomes a stalker in Russia. All that and more inside this episode.

Strong Bad curses the tiny people floating in his house
Recently I have been playing the first episode of SBCG4AP, of which I was impressed with. I'm a Telltale fanboy it has to be said, and although this game was not as good as Sam & Max, everything was still top quality, and I'm currently in the process of writing a review for it -- so, look out for that!
I am also heavily into Smash Bros. at the moment, trying to collect everything the game has to offer. Trophies, stickers, and so on. I'm still amazed at how much the game has to offer. One of my favourite characters on the game is Kirby, not due to his-- er, her -- umm. its attacks or moves, but because it can swallow other people and then change to look like them. My photobook on the game is mostly just full of snaps of Kirby in different costumes. Easily amused.
Finally, I am also playing Little Big Adventure 2, a classic game. I'm screenshotting it as I go through and am uploading the pictures to GiantBomb, so by the end of it that page will be the ultimate resource for LBA2 screens. :) Woo.
In sorta non-gaming news, I am looking to purchase a print of a Penny Arcade comic. Do you have one that is your favourite? Let me know.
Excuse the sloppiness of this blog. It's just gone four minutes past midnight, but I've been meaning to write another blog, so I thought I'd do it now while I feel like it.

Seriously, what's with all these great, little games recently? It seems like everybody is getting on the XBLA bus, or PSN bandwagon... or the WiiWare... er, parade. Believe me when I say this, there hasn't been a better time to buy great, affordable games than right now. Seriously, here's what came out in the past 3 weeks for the uninformed.
Next week comes Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty... which will probably be great as well. After that, we've also got Castle Crashers, Mega Man 9, more Strong Bad episodes... and Portal: Still Alive. Fat Princess, World of Goo, Flower, and more. Expect a lot more downloading in the coming weeks.

Strong Bad is coming next week... and may I say, a jorb well done.
Where is Strong Bad? As an attractive person, I want to play cool games... and you promised such a game would come out in July. Where is it?
My apologies to Pong Toss... no, screw Pong Toss! The whole concept of that game sucks!
