I found this article over at NintendoLife and found it crazy.  Miyamoto had an interview with Wired.com and he mentioned that Super Mario 64 at a point had 2-player co-op.  Check out the link for all of the details.

This makes me wonder why don't they add real co-op to Galaxy 2...that would be awesome.

@Black_Rose: That would be Mario Galaxy 3. Scratch that, 4. Need to milk some Wario in there somehow.
