Some of you may or may not know, but today marks the 20th anniversary for Super Mario Bros. 3.  NintendoLife has a great article about the event with the hype train starting with The Wizard.  I can't believe it's been 20 years since this game has came out here in the US.  Let's all say happy anniversary to one of the best games of all time.  I guess it's time to bust out that NES of mine.

My favorite game is one year older than me. Craziness.

To this day, I still haven't beaten that game. Something must be wrong with me.

I prefer Super Mario World but I still loved this game. But here's 20 years to one of the best games on the NES!

    Happy 20th SMB3!

I've still got my 20 year old mint copy. I stood outside a Dixons store in West London at 6.30am in the morning, in the rain, for this very copy. The store opened at 9.00am, lol

I don't get why people love Super Mario Bros. 3 so much. It's not a bad game, but the floaty, loose controls are really annoying; the original Super Mario Bros. is way better.

Remember playing this one at my cousin's house probably more than 14 or 15 years ago.  Even in their library of NES games that included Punchout, Duckhunt (on the Duckhunt/Super Mario Bros. combo cart), Contra, and Link's Adventure, I remember SMBs 3 being my favorite for its accessibility, its variety, and its just overall emission of awesome-ness.
Happy Birthday, Super Mario Bros 3.  May your legend live forever.

This was the first game I can remember that was actually hyped before release... and that was before the internet.

Still the best Mario game in my book.

@Dalai:  For sure! I remember completely depending upon game magazines to find out what has already come out. After watching the Wizard I was shocked to learn that it was a real game coming out. Yet, I was so poor I didn't get to play this game until I was much older :(

Suddenly, I feel old, yet I'm strangely okay with this.  Probably because Super Mario Bros. 3 is one of the best games ever made and has stood the test of time so well.

I still think that Super Mario World is better, but SMB3's awesomeness cannot be denied.

This game still holds up so well. Wish I wasn't born after the huge hype and release of this classic.

Man, i was age 13 back then.
    Has it been that long?
As some others said, i indeed feel geriatric as well.
In ten more years i'm a living fossil. (if i'm actually still alive then)
    Cool game, still very playable.

Its crazy to think that since I wasent born for another 3 days. In fact as someone who is a fan of retro games most of my favourites are older than I am like the original Golden Axe (Arcade and Mega Drive though neither is my absolute favourite) and one of my favourite consoles of all time, and the one I had as a kid, came out in Japan and the US before I was born (although 6 months after I was born). But mostly its crazy to think you own a mint copy of a game, first hand, that was released before I was born lol
