Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels was the Japanese sequel to the original Super Mario Bros. game. It was deemed as being too difficult for the western audience and thus was never released until being apart on the compilation game Super Mario Allstars for Super Nintendo. The Western audience were treated to a different version of Super Mario Bros. 2 in the mean time.
The Lost Levels played very similarly to the original Mario game, spanning a futher 8 worlds containing 8 levels, but this time being noticably more challenging.
