Do you Jump Over or Run Underneath Bowser?

I am terrible at this game, I have seriously been trying to beat it for almost 20 years since I've started playing games. I realized that if I can't make it to bowser with fire balls I'm fucked. I usually miss time my jumps over him which eventually leads to starting the game over. So am I approaching this wrong and should try and run underneath him?

I'm pretty sure I used to run under him. It's been a good 7 years or more since I played the first Mario so it's hard to remember.

Underneath. I always went wrong trying to make the jump.

This is a bad poll because

1. If you're good enough you just shoot that fucker with fireballs

2. Jumping over that bitch is easy until he starts throwing those God Damn hammers, then you basically HAVE to run under him
