Bill O'Reilly saying something positive about video games? Man, this must be old.

Also, I think we can take the information in this clip to mean that the Super Mario Bros. movie is, definitively NOT CANON. Rob Leingang's hair, however? Totally canon. Totally party.

Spotted this on MTV Multiplayer.

I have watched that before, I found it fascinating and lol worthy when I did.

We had something similar in the UK, the "Club Nintendo Hotline" I remember running up the phone bill severe because of Megaman, I also remember caned by my moms because of it.

hahaha, this is great. A "Game-Play" conselour, I remember calling something similar as  a kid. And that "Fun Club" president sure can dress... fun.

"Can the rescue a princess? Can they save the world? And that's all of us."
You said it! Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to ring the hints line to get past that tricky hammerbros section in 3-1.

I'm distraught by the fact that the idea their names are Mario Mario and Luigi Mario wasn't part of Nintendo's company line.

I wake up one day and suddenly "canon" is said by a shit ton of people, like someone just invented it the night over. I don't know if its just me, but i guess it must be. But it sounds fucking dumb. And with that out of the way, classic video good old days.

#18 Posted by PuppyKisses (77 posts) - 4 years, 1 month ago

Goddamn I'm old. That brings back sooooooo many memories.

"Have you ever heard of Nintendo?"
"No....who's he?"

#22 Edited by ahoodedfigure (4229 posts) - 4 years, 1 month ago

But but...  he looks just as insincere now as he did then.  Is he some sort of android?  Isn't one's ability with Lincoln Logs actually a test for humanity if you don't have any dogs around?

"Trial and error": I heard that.

HOLY CRAP!  HOWARD PHILLIPS!!!  That bow tie was actually a growth.  It was tragic.

#23 Posted by HT101 (1139 posts) - 4 years, 1 month ago

I wonder when Bill O'Reilly went all crazy because he seemed normal in that video.

#24 Posted by DannyJ (445 posts) - 4 years, 1 month ago

What a glorious mullet

#25 Posted by Standing_Gopher (126 posts) - 4 years, 1 month ago

Howard Phillips has a top-notch bow tie right there.

Did it strike anyone else that Howard Phillips, the 'Fun Club' President has got to be a present day pedophile?

#37 Posted by theMcNasty (741 posts) - 4 years, 1 month ago

I WANT TO BE A GAMEPLAY COUNSELOR!  WHY DO THEY NO LONGER HAVE THESE POSITIONS!!??

Caps time is over... *sigh*.

#38 Posted by _Phara0h_ (854 posts) - 4 years, 1 month ago

This is a puff peace O'Reilly probably got paid for this.

#39 Edited by Scooper (7880 posts) - 4 years, 1 month ago

Mario Puzi is the man. I totally used to wear a Mario sweater all the time when I was little, it was my favourite sweater ever.

#40 Posted by Keyser_Soze (1186 posts) - 4 years, 1 month ago

And sometime between then and now O'Reilly was molested by videogames and thus began his crusade against them.

#41 Posted by RHCPfan24 (8608 posts) - 4 years, 1 month ago

@ 3:18, look at that hair! Those were the days man!

So... did that Nintendo thing work out? Was it a success?

#44 Posted by JoelTGM (5584 posts) - 4 years, 1 month ago

that is hilarious

#45 Posted by Video_Game_King (29291 posts) - 4 years, 1 month ago

Seemed like a marketing video. And the only reason this was positive was because it was a time in video game history when people saw video games as nothing more than toys meant for children. When the early 90s began, and developers started proving that wrong, THAT'S when all these critics came out of their holes. Critics like Jack Thompson.

#46 Posted by Rion1 (29 posts) - 4 years, 1 month ago

So...Mario is all of us?

#47 Posted by MrMiyagi (925 posts) - 4 years, 1 month ago

About 80 different games you can plug into the system!

#48 Posted by Hector (3203 posts) - 4 years, 1 month ago

Hahaha! This is great! I remember the good ol' NES days.

#49 Posted by Jayzilla (2388 posts) - 4 years, 1 month ago

"they are us. the best of the nice guys."

#50 Posted by Cerza (1653 posts) - 4 years, 1 month ago

Oh man I remember those days. If only I had a time machine and could go back to then. Those were the days....

Also, I had that Mario lunch box, the backpack and the underpants. That's right! I am not ashamed to admit it.
