Japan Gets a Sweet Red Wii
The Super Mario Bros. 25th Anniversary Wii replaces the iPod white plastic of the standard Wii with shiny red plastic, which is perfect because Mario has a red hat! The recolored Wii ships with a Wii Remote Plus (that's the Wii remote with the Motion Plus add-on built in) and Nunchuk attachment also in matching red plastic.
Finally, and perhaps most interestingly, the new Wii package will ship with a built in game called 25th Anniversary Super Mario Bros, which looks like a version of the original Super Mario Bros updated with some anniversary messaging. Siliconera revealed an image of the updated game, but the only difference that can bee seen so far is that the classic question mark blocks have been replaced with “25 blocks.” Whether there are any other changed being made to the original game is unclear,
The red Wii is currently set to retail in Japan for 20,000 yen ($242). While both the Anniversary DS and Wii consoles have only been announced for a Japanese released, Kotaku reported today that the Super Mario Collection set would be making its way to Europe on December 3rd. Hopefully, a stateside hardware announcement is coming soon, because that red Wii is suspiciously fresh.

I am going to buy one for my nephew. He would love that. Wii is great for kids. They should make them in fisher price primer colors.
No All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros.? No Super Mario Bros. Special? No sale.
" Oh man, when the Crips get wind of this. They will not be pleased. "This newspost is over, because you've won it.
Definitely getting the collection when it's released state side, but I'll pass on the red Wii. It looks nice, but I've already got one. Not to mention the black one looks cooler IMHO.
If only the front LED was white instead of blue this would be a very patriotic system. A white stripe down the side and a maple leaf sticker and this thing would be perfect. By far the snazziest paper weight they have made yet.
Theres a bug with the article (or it could just be me). When I click the image of Super Mario Bros. at the bottom of the article, rather than increasing the size of the image, the page reloads. Weird or what?
OH HELL, they are missing the boat on this one. Considering the market for the Wii it should be PINK! A pink Wii would sell like hotcakes.
Nice, but it's missing something , THIS
That "red" is too pink. The black one looks the slickest of the bunch imo. I'm still rocking the white one (read "rocking" as "gathering dust under my TV"). And thanks to Nintendo's baffling inability to allow you to transfer virtual purchases, I'll be keeping my white launch Wii.
