Oh hell yes. Thanks!

It's pretty amazing that you could easily pass this video off as being recorded yesterday, glad to see there still both really funny.

Oh man I have new hope that Greg's full Oblivion marathon will show up someday.

Fairly sure that and the Super Paper Mario marathon are both lost as they weren't recorded :(. Not sure why Gamespot archived some of the marathons but not them all (Wii Marathon archived, PS3 marathon not).

For the Wii launch Marathon: http://uk.gamespot.com/shows/on-the-spot/?event=on_the_spot20061110 well worth watching. (That's stream is what made me follow gamespot)

There was a Super Paper Mario marathon as well? Fuck...

Oh shit that's a four and a half hour Wii launch marathon? The fuck was even out when the Wii launched? If only there was a website I could check to tell me such things...

Oh fuck there is! Wikipedia!

I may have to buy the game and play it on dolphin

#61 Posted by Mijati (897 posts) -
@pyromagnestir: They played Super Monkey Ball, Wii Sports, tested Gamecube games, sure there's probably a couple more games too. Then they played Twilight Princess for a long time. Was an awesome Marathon.

The only thing left over from the Super Paper Mario marathon is 30 minutes of highlights... with no sound. http://uk.gamespot.com/super-paper-mario/videos/super-paper-mario-marathon-highlights-6168767/  Would love to watch that whole thing again as remember it being really entertaining but if they don't have the footage then not sure what they can do.
#62 Posted by pyromagnestir (4252 posts) -

@Mijati: Yeah I looked over the launch lineup and guessed what they'd be checking out. There were a shitload of games out at launch, but man none of them seemed all that great (and that's putting it lightly). Excepting Twilight Princess and Wii Sports, that is. And maybe Super Monkey Ball... I always wanted to check out those games but never did. At first it was because I didn't have the money to spend on my every video game whim, but then I just forgot they existed.

Oh shit just noticed the stream is available in 720p... Well at least it says it's 720 but it kinda looks like shit still. Maybe it'll be better when they get to the actual games?

I'll watch it later. Also there's seems to be 3 dudes who I don't know on it.

If I remember they answered one of my questions during this.

This exists?! Thanks, dude.!

How convenient that I am sick, in bed, with nothing to do but think about me not throwing up!

#67 Posted by Redsox44 (481 posts) -

I think I watched this, but I mostly forgot everything so I will rewatch it!

#68 Posted by pyromagnestir (4252 posts) -

Bastion totally ripped off Mario Galaxy! Get Greg Kasavin on the phone to answer for his crimes! See part 8 for the damning evidence.

Fuck guys I'm just over 2 minutes in and this video is already gold. Nintendo sent a fucking ice cream truck complete with music, operated by what seems to be a trio of pretty ladies (two for sure, and it looked like the driver was a lady as well but maybe they just slapped a wig on a smallish dude and said "fucking deal with it.") to deliver the Wii, then snapped a picture of Brad and now they're giving him ice cream!

A second viewing seems to indicate there are only 2 ladies, the driver being one of them as she went in back after they pulled up. Shoemaker's dropping the charm on them ladies. True player, that guy.

I love you Nintendo! Never change!

wow I have to watch it :)

#76 Posted by TehFlan (1944 posts) -

Well, that was fun. Thanks for posting these.

#77 Posted by JD183 (39 posts) -

No worries guys :)

I found it very randomly when searching for something else. I agree with you guys - I'd love to find Greg's Oblivion marathon or the live PS3 marathon etc. I wonder if they're sat on a HDD or if they're lost forever.

#78 Posted by RJPelonia (854 posts) -

Oh wow. I thought I would never see this again.

#79 Posted by A_Dog (743 posts) -

That does look like a chicken, Jeff.

Also, I don't remember the beginning of this game at all.

#80 Posted by WinterSnowblind (7613 posts) -

I forgot how much I loved this game. It's a shame all the Mario games since have gone for the linear approach, over the bigger levels with multiple objectives.

#81 Posted by TeflonBilly (4713 posts) -

Has anybody foun the old Cooking With Tim Tracy vids? I ahd those favoirted on YouTube before but it's gona now.

I wanna see Jeff and Tim eat spaghetti sandiwches, office tiramisu and bachelor casserole again!

It's amazing to me that Super Mario Galaxy is that old! I would have never guessed that it predated GB!

#83 Posted by Undeadpool (4913 posts) -

@pyromagnestir: Fortunately, googling "Super Mario Galaxy Live Gameplay Marathon – Part 1 of 12" and switching to video search lists every part's gamespot page. Crisis averted!

#87 Posted by Ghost_Cat (1395 posts) -

I remember Jeff was talking trash recently about gaming laptops, but look at what we have here!

#88 Posted by pyromagnestir (4252 posts) -

@Benny: Indeed it does, as that's how I found them. Figured I'd slap 'em up here anyway.

#89 Posted by Cirdain (2998 posts) -
@pyromagnestir It'd be cool if @FoliorumViridum put that on the first page...
#90 Posted by altairre (1140 posts) -

They pulled it? Really? *makes fart noises* Off to gamespot I go.
