Was this anyone elses first video game?

Super Mario World was the first game I ever owned. I got it when I was three, a doctor living across the street gave my brother and I this and a SNES for our birthdays (Which are in the same month, he's two years older than me). I loved playing it back then, and I still enjoy playing it now.

It isn't the first game I ever played, tough the Mario games were amoungst the first I played. I only found out about Super Mario World when I became a 'hadcore gamer'. I don't find it as much fun as Super Mario Brothers 3, but it's certainly more technically impressive.

Twas amoung my first. I didn't play much of the NES as a kid, but was a massive SNES fan! Probably my most played game, love it =]

Yup.  I got it packed with my SNES when I was 4 or 5 for Christmas.  It still remains in my top 5 games of all times.

First NES game was SMB.

Not my first game, though.

I didn't play this until it was ported to the GameBoy Advance. Really great Mario game. I might even consider it better then SMB3...

My first game played was Super Mario Bros. I don't know the first game I ever truly owned. I know my cousin gave me Super Mario World later on though. Still my favorite game to this day.

I don't think it was my first game. But it's definitely the first game I can remember playing. Mario and Luigi, me and my brother. Ah, good times.

Also, stealing lives was always entertaining.

It's not my first video game, but I think it's the first game I remember owning and playing regularly (the earliest game I owned was probably some volleyball game for the NES, but I don't even remember the name).

Super Mario World was my first SNES game, as it most likely was for many gamers my age. I remember playing that baby for the first time and thinking, Man, this is great! I'll never go back to boring ol' NES Mario games again! Naturally, I abandoned that way of thinking as I matured as a gamer. Even so, I can honestly say that Super Mario World had a bigger impact on me the first time through than any other Mario game to date--yes, I'm including Super Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy, and even New Super Mario Bros.

Hell, I might have to dig out my SNES and play through SMW one more time...

It wasn't my first game, but was the first that I actually owned. Came with my SNES way back in the day. Played it to death.

O my gosh come to think of it a form of super mario world WAS my first game. It was on gameboy color. You have no clue how happy I am right now. I could never remember my first game.

The first video game that I had for the SNES was Super Mario All Stars, but it was the version that included this game.

If you count console titles and not the Apple IIe, then yes.

#32 Posted by Spizzy (37 posts) -

The first time I played Super Mario World is probably the most memorable moment since I started gaming. It just blew me away, we would play it over and over even after we beat it so many times, but it wasn't my first video game. I'm pretty sure my first video game was either Pong on the Atari or Super Mario Bros. on the NES, not sure. It's been so long.

#33 Posted by robbob88 (326 posts) -

This was my first game as well. I loved it.

#41 Posted by donfonzie (206 posts) -

Donkey kong - for the "game and watch".

#42 Posted by Mourne (789 posts) -

Definitely not my first, but maybe the first I really got into playing with other people. My entire family and I would sit around and play this at all kinds of holiday events, as it was really that kind of game.
