My First SNES

#1 Posted by Asmo917 (394 posts) -

After growing up pretty much without video games until the Playstation era, I finally got my first SNES and hooked it up to my TV and verified it's working. I've got Super Mario World, Shadowrun, Dr Mario and Tetris, and a collection of fighting games (Mortal Kombat 1-3, Killer Instinct, Street Fighter II).

Apart from Earthbound (not shelling out $100+ on the secondary market), Chrono Trigger, and Link to the Past (played those via DS) - what do I HAVE to play?

Super Metroid might just be the greatest game ever made, so I'd say it qualifies. U.N. Squadron is also pretty great.

I would rank Super Metroid as one of the best games ever made too.

Super Mario All Stars should be in everybody's collection.

Super Metroid is a must. I'd also say Illusion of Gaia.

Yoshi's Island. Every single level of that game is unique. They made a DS remake though, so you have options there.

Uncharted Waters: New Horizons
Demons Crest animation is wonderful

Of course all the games mentioned in this thread are great as well, these games just might not be as well heard of.
