IGN Reported that a third party game accessory manufactor has anounced a new handheld, a handheld called the SupaBoy.

Basicaly its a handheld that lets you play SNES games on it, it has controls on the handheld itself but will allow for external SNES controllers. Pricing is yet unknown but it is due for release in the US, it  will only play US cartridges, UK release is unknown.

Fail or Win?

Most third-party SNES systems are not compatible with all of the games, which kinda sucks.  The ports for external SNES controllers look like they'll get in the way of the handheld's controls and feel uncomfortable.  Can it export to a monitor or something?  I'm assuming it does, because playing two-player games on a tiny-ass screen like that probably isn't the best idea.

Still, portable SNES?  That's pretty sweet.

It has AV + Stero output for your TV, but then isn't it just a way to play SNES games on your TV, cause I got me one of those...

What a fucking waste of time and money.

There's already something better out there in the market.

Granted, it doesn't read cartridges since it reads ROMs but that's probably for the better.

Total fucking fail. You can get SNES emulators on anything nowadays and if you gotta jam an actual cartridge into the back of that thing then what's the point. You might as well dig out your old SNES or get one on Ebay for $10 instead.

I already have a handheld SNES, it is called my GBA.

Also the placement of the shoulder pads look like to be in a terrible spot.

I'm kind of interested as I have a bunch of SNES carts somewhere but the size of the thing must be enormous. 

Depending on price I might have to pick one of these up just to keep it in sealed and put it in storage.

There is something endearing I think about playing an actual SNES cart. Even with emulators, I'm still playing FFVI on the cart, simply because I can.
