    Super Scribblenauts

Game » consists of 4 releases. Released Oct 12, 2010

Building upon the innovative Scribblenauts, the sequel brings adjectives, vastly improved controls, and deeper levels and puzzles. Adjectives modify game objects in realistic ways, allowing players to make use of Angry Fridges and Gentlemanly Raptors as they progress through over 100 levels.

    Scribblenauts, this time with adjectives!

I loved the original scribblenauts. It was (at least to me) a fun and original game. Now, we have news of a sequel. On it's own, I would be skeptical, but according to nintendo power , It's supposed to include better controls (hooray!) more words, and adjectives., all of which make me a bit more eager.

What are your thoughts on this?

Personally, i'm a bit concerned on the whole adjective part. I guess i'll have to wait and see how it pans out

So if we say "blue elephant" we get an elephant with a blue tint over it? Woo-hoo.

I just want controls that don't suck and I'm good with it.

    Augh...

Scribblenauts was one of the worst...um...games I've ever 'played', in fact it was probably closer to an awkward and fairly crappy interactive visual dictionary. The only good thing about the game was the idea. The graphics were, with a few exceptions, crude and ugly, the level designs were mostly awful and poorly thought out, the controls were infuriating, the way objects interacted and the properties of those objects were inconsistent or sometimes just completely wrong, entirely different objects sometimes got summoned instead of what you actually wanted, the majority of summonable objects were plain useless - you could probably solve every level with 5 or 6 specific objects.

If I were going to sum up my problems with Scribblenauts with one point, it would be that it just simply valued quantity much higher than quality; a bajillion useless items and hundreds of crappy levels.

I'll tell you when I'm going to buy Scribblenauts 2:

I haven't even played the first yet.  Too many bad words said about it for me to pay more than $20 Au.  I am still curious though, but I accept that it will have a novelty factor that wears off quickly.  Looking forward to seeing if they can do better with 2.  Perhaps a Wii version may have been better?

With the way that the game sold, a sequel is inevitable.  I just pray that they fix the controls and make at least some of the physics feel better.

I've always thought the game could work well on a computer.

I was really really disappointed in the first one, but I'll still give another one a shot.  It was an amazing concept, they just need to build a good game around it.

Scribblenauts wasn't a good game, but I still appreciated it. At the end of the day, it was more of a toy, but a unique toy.

Personally I think it might help if they started allowing verbs. Either way, it's highly unlikely I'll ever play the sequel. I thought the first game was pretty horrible.

God dammit GiantBomb forum structure, i completely missed this announcement.

Some highlights of the upcomming Nintendo Power article:

    -Developed by 5TH Cell.
    -DS Only.
    -Out this Fall.
-Yes, D-pad controls for Maxwell are in along with significantly improved stylus controls and camera is now fixed.
-Big updates to physics (it's still DS, but it's vastly improved).
-Levels are revamped completely improved (no more solving every level with rope/unicorn/death/etc), levels are deeper in content.
-The 10,000 words refers to adjectives, we didn't add 10,000 new objects, we put in 10,000 new adjectives (we put in some new words too).
    -You can string adjectives together.

@Hailinel: looks like you are lucky.

Scribblenauts 2?  Hells no!  I will not be tricked into buying that game again!

As for the Nintendo Power article, where is it?  I have the March 2010 issue and I don't see it.
