Best in series?, yes but expected a bit more 1

Apart from all the things already said by many of the reviewers out, this game just rocks.Nintendo threw in some new characters, yes Snake is in the game as well as Sonic but I hoped more new characters were introduced not in the form of clones that is. Not satisfied by the roster Nintendo launched with the game different modes, Master Pieces being one of them. In the master piece part of the game it will let you try out a few of the games available from Nintendo via the shop, although the maste...

SSBB- A true sucessor to the excellent Melee. 0

Super Smash Bros. Brawl was the game I bought a Wii for, and it has not let me down, there is a great roster of characters, and some of the new additions are truly great (here's looking at you Pit and Meta Knight!) and fun to play, the characters animations are definitely top notch, a big improvement on melee. The sound is great, with a seemingly endless amount of game music, all very nostalgic. The loading times are massive compared to what I expected, and along with the gimped random online fea...

Brawl really leaves nothing unfinished, almost no feature omitted 0

I've been playing video games for almost as long as I can remember. As of this review, I've beaten 572 and played many more. Perhaps one of my favorite games so far is Super Smash Bros. Brawl. OK, it's only in the top 3, but that's still quite a statement. But why do I love this game so much? Brawl attempts something different when it comes to fighters. Rather than depleting your sole opponent's life bar with arcane button and joystick sequences which fire fireballs from your hands , you bash yo...

Good, But Could Have Been So Much More... 0

Of all of Nintendo's Wii lineup, this game possibly had the most to live up to. Few of the Big N's games have ever been so hyped before release and subsequently been delayed so many times. The time spent should have given the creators of Super Smash Bros. Brawl time to create a quality offering with loads of new modes and things to do. It's just lacking in so many areas and missing so much of what could be there, not to mention it seems like it would be better served on a console with normal con...

    NINTENDO'S MOST OVERRATED FRANCHISE 1

I first played Super Smash Bros on the N64 in college with some roommates, and it kept my interest for all of about an hour. When Melee came out for the Gamecube, I could not figure out why it was so popular (one of the, if not THE best selling titles for that system) and really didn't care to find out for myself. There has been such a interest in Brawl since it was announced, that I knew I had to try it out eventually. In a nutshell, my thought is it's Smash Bros. on the Wii, no more and no les...

    Nintendo's Excuse to Beat-Up Your Friends 0

Nintendo Wii owner's finally get their hands on Super Smash Bros. Brawl after numerous delays. By the look of things around this site, it was worth the wait. With numerous modes found in the single player and multiplayer sides of the game, there is no question that this game will keep you busy for months, maybe years, on end. Also, the introduction of online play is a plus and will sustain a long life cycle to those who have their Wii connected to the internet. The controls for this game are ve...

I love Super Smash Bros. FTW 0

I just played this game and looked awesome. This is first time when featuring non-Nintendo characters. We got Solid Snake from Metal Gear and Sonic from Sonic the Hedgehog which is non-Nintendo franchise characters. Just thank you. Sonic is a awesome character. I will make my Top 20 favorite SSBB characters....

Complete and Utter Fan-Service and you'll Love every Minute of it 1

Overview: Super Smash Bros. Brawl is one of those games that could have gone in a couple of directions. Nintendo could have cranked it out in under a year with a few new characters and stages and justified it with the new hardware of the Wii (as some sequels actually do). And we all would have been satisfied with it for that matter. Luckily, Nintendo knows what their fans want, and took the time to nurture this game into the powerhouse that it really is. It has been a long time coming and many...

    A game for friends. 1

Me versus a friend. Every screen in this review is from the game's own screenshot feature!   THE GOOD: Online play is fantastic; best soundtrack ever; superb 60 fps graphics; huge selection of fighters and stages; flawless fundamental gameplay; great fun when playing with friends. THE BAD: Loading times are horrible; you can't play user stages online; if you don't have friends or an online connection, then this game is not for you. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is here and I have been playing it f...

A brawler for the ages 0

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a game with something for everyone. Granted, it has more for some than others, but between the hectic brawls made for up to four players, the lengthy story mode that travels through Nintendo's most popular franchises, and the loads of nostalgia crammed in every corner of the experience, it's a game you'd have to be crazy to hate. Unless you're one of those jerks that Jeff mentioned. At the same time, not everything in Brawl is for everyone. While Brawl offers a whole lo...

Super Smash Bros... Or Super Smash Potato? 0

Super Smash Bros. for the Wii comes in with HUGE hype. I can see why so many people like this game. It has variety, online play ect ect. But it is the same game that I have played on the N64. And I didnt like the N64 game that much. THE GOODSTons of Characters to choose from at the gate. More to unlock. Story mode lets you have fun by your lonesome. THE BADLets be honest... Its the same freakin game I played on the N64. Nothing inovative about this game. To unlock some characters like Sonic, you...

Brawl is best in a party setting, and is a nostalgia jewel 0

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a game that's virtually impossible to dislike for anyone who's been around the block in the gaming world, or anyone who's just a sucker for nostalgia. While Brawl is an obligatory player's choice on the Nintendo side, gamers from all demographics will indubitably find charm in this Brawler. Veterans of the Smash Bros. series will find no surprises on the game play side of Brawl. Like its predecessors, Brawl sticks to chaotic four player battle contentions, and simpli...

A fantastic party game, but not much more 1

Super Smash Bros Brawl is the third instalment in Nintendo’s best-selling fighting/party-game franchise. For everyone somehow left out of the loop, that means all of your favourite characters from the top Nintendo franchises going at each other’s necks in an all-out fighting fest. Have a bone to pick with that cuddly chum Pikachu? Blast him away with Samus’s arm cannon. Or hack him to shreds with Link’s master sword. There’s thousands of possibilities, and the best part is that you and your frie...

    SSBB Review 0

Lets get one thing straight from the get-go: I am by no means a Super Smash Bros. expert. I’ve played every incarnation of the game, but the series has never held my attention for very long, as I have never had friends around who like playing it regularly. And a Smash Bros. game without multiplayer satisfaction is hardly Smash Bros. at all. So, for now, lets stick to what I do know about this game. The graphics are splendid enough, especially when you consider that the Wii can only output in the...

    Best party game ever. 0

You may not agree with the above statement, but Brawl is honestly the best game I've ever played. It is jam-packed with so much content, it could cost $100 and still be worth it. It keeps the perfect gameplay of Melee, and makes it better. How do you make perfection better? In this review I'll show you how Nintendo did the impossible. There are so many features that it'll make your head spin. Everything from multiplayer fights to co-op side scrolling to level making to demos of Nintendo's classic...

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is PERFECT 0

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is an all out perfect game. There is nothing wrong with it. From so many characters you cant play this game and not be able to find someone to brawl as. This is a great wi-fi based game, where you can send stages, and brawl others who are on your friends list or just random people. The story mode is wonderful too. I have never seen a Nintendo game with this great of cut-senes. There of course are many other modes too. For one you have classic mode. Another is All-star mod...

    Awesome Smash Bros. Brawl! 0

WARNING: Spoilers, Bad Language! The Adventure mode is quite long but the story is good at best.  Also, there were situations where this mode should've supported 4-players co-op considering the amount of characters there are to select.  We completed Adventure mode in 10 hours! Unlocking characters through Adventure mode was great. The final boss of Adventure mode is WAY~ overpowered.  Expect to die several times and maybe even cry. They should've added the ability to select different characters o...

Great game with some balance issues. 0

Easily one of the best reasons to own a Wii, Super Smash Bros. Brawl really shows off some of the Wii's capabilities but by no means its potential. The game makes no usage of the Wii motes motion sensing capability which we all know is the main selling point of the system. This may not come as a dissapointment however, as Smash Bros. has always been touted on tight controls that probably would not have translated well if you had to swing your controller to swing the Home Run bat. My main issues ...

Its still the best 4 player game on the market... 0

Best Feature: Same character smashing gameplay with new additions, that all work! Fantastic multiplayer as usual. Snake! Sonic! Pit! And a Charizard! Worst Feature: Wow...gotta think hard about this one...This is my fanboyish nitpicking but there are characters I'd still like to see. Let's see, Peach is here but no Daisy...Sonic is here finally! But no Tails or Dr. Robotnik (Or Eggman if you prefer, Death Egg Zone would be a baddass stage) and why is Little Mac just an item and not playable?! ...

Smash is great, but it still has my Wii collecting dust. 0

Super Smash came out a while ago, and I held off the review until after I had played it with friends over break. Since this is a pretty broad game I will give a very brief talk about the basics of the game, and after that I will speak as though you have played a previous version of Smash.Smash is a fast-paced, pound-your-friends-in-the-head game that stars your favorite Nintendo Characters. SSB:Brawl has 35 characters or 39 if you count Zero Suit Samus, the other two Pokemon that Pokemon Trainer...

The most awesome fan service of a game ever. 0

This game is one of the best I've ever played. I'm willing to admit that part of the reasoning behind it is the nostalgia factor. However, even if you remove the nostalgia, its a pretty fun game with some of the best graphics the Wii has seen so far.The graphics are fantastic, and are actually pretty realistic. This game brings up the same issue Super Mario Galaxy brought up, I don't think I want any game including Mario or Kirby to look much more realistic, or it just wouldn't feel right. There...

    Mario battles Dr. Manhattan 0

Super Smash Bros Brawl : Some kind of fighter/platformer hybrid where players control a variety of characters from Nintendo’s past and battle each in some kind of King of the Hill-style of cartoon combat. Along the way, Nintendo will pat itself on the back a lot throughout the game. Story : Oh yes, this one has a storyline, based in the new single-player campaign “The Subspace Emissary.” Apparently, the Nintendo mascots were engaging in some kind of friendly tournament popular enough to sell out...

    A Truly Smashing Game 2

The multiplayer action of the Smash Bros. series has never been better and the single player is extremely enjoyable (due to a fun side-scrolling adventure mode and an addicting achievement mode). New features to the game include: The smash ball (break it and receive the ability to unleash a devastating final smash attack) which can completely change the tide of a battle, online play (in which one can battle players from around the globe), stage builder mode (which allows one to create his/her ow...

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a revolutionary fighting game that can really be a stress reliever if you are mad at someone but you don't really want to hurt them! Every character and every course is expertly designed for a real fight! The music in the game can please any fan and hardcore gamer who grew up with Nintendo's most iconic games! The Subspace Emissary adds the necessary adventure that the series needed from the start. The multi-player can help anyone get the hands up on what could be expe...

Super Smash Bros Brawl review 2

Super Smash Bros Brawl has been one of the most anticipated games to come out on the wii and it sure brings a lot of great fun into the wii. The space embassy is a pretty cool story mode that gives you a nostalgic feel of playing an old nintendo 2D side scrolling classic except with updated graphics. This also makes a start by adding non nintendo characters into the scene such as Solid Snake and Sonic. Hopefully on the next Brawl, they would add more characters like Dante, Ken (from Street Fight...

So its Finally out And Ive got my copy and its just great. I completed the singleplayer in 8 hours and that isn't to bad for a fighting game Considering how most other fighting games take to fin this is very good and in that run you unlock mostly all the roster apart from a few people who can't but added till you beat the game. It has a great roster with there own great moves and the Final Smashes are just incredible. Threre are loads of stuff to collect and many gameplay modes like boss mode a...

    Good, but not better 0

I will let this out there, Melee IS the SINGLE GREATEST GAME EVER MADE. As such, I highly anticipated Brawl. This game feels more like an expansion then a sequel. Other then a changed roster and new stages and stage making and a new mode and online, not much has changed. Stage making is not good, the roster is as good as any other fighting game, new stages keep moving which is good, online play is LAGGY, and the new mode, The Subspace Emissary, is a confusing and disappointing attempt to give Br...

After years of waiting that were lengthened by numerous delays, Super Smash Bros. Brawl has finally hit the shelves of Japan. While most gamers will have to wait until March (or later, for those outside of North America) to get their hands on this title, an estimated 500,000 copies have fallen into the hands of players in Japan, including myself. After putting quite a bit of time into this game, I would have to say that it was most definitely worth the wait, and that those still waiting have som...

A fighting game fit for everyone and the best part about the game is that you can now use Sonic and Snake. The stages are amazing in my favor, the soundtrack is excellent for all of us and the all new story mode puts you in the arena. So if you want to fight in the brawl, then you got to play this game. A fighting game deserves a perfect score and just like the other 2 installments, it is amazing! So, I give this game a perfect score of 5 stars and the best part about it... online tournament! Ar...

Not an immense, realistic game, but is very fun. 0

First let me say that I am somewhat of a Smash Bros fan boy. When I was a young lad, I was at my grandparents with my brothers. We had the N64 and were playing Sarge's heroes and some other games. This commercial came on, and showed guys with costumes of Super Mario, Donkey Kong, and Yoshi all beating eachother up. Immediately we went and rented the game. We laughed for hours playing it. Ever since than, I have enjoyed playing the original, then Melee, and now Brawl.  Ok, so for the review, I'm ...

Likely i was able to get my hands on a Wii and SSBB. Now reccently when i started playing, i thought it was going to be just a few levels of punching, kicking, tackles, ect. But, more was brought to life in this game. The new stages were GREAT! I loved all the spiceal tricks that was in for me. (I really liked the Luigis masion). All the chracters are new and improved. along with new ones like wolf, toon link, Meta Knight, Ike, ect. BUT, there were 2 special charters that amazed me. Snake (metal...

The surprising 2D fighting style (Super smash Bros Brawl) is here, is it the same great feling like the others or does it fail at making top of the Wii list? Super smash bros brawl, a long waited intense fighting game that does different sequences and much more characters to it.            The story, there's not much of a story to a fighting game until now, you go through the story to start off as a certain character to go through hordes of enemies to make through the next stage/level n...

Super Smash Brothers Brawl; best Wii game yet? 2

It can certainly be argued that the new installment of the Super Smash Brothers series is one of, if not THE best game in the Wii's library thus far.Its combination of cute graphics and in depth gameplay make it a very accessible title over a wide range of audiences. But has it got something for everyone?Firstly, the character roster has been expanded a lot, whereas in previous titles there were a lot of characters that were hardly any different, such as Mario and Dr. Mario, Pikachu and Pichu, M...

Is this Brawl a Smash? 0

Super Smash Bros. is one of Nintendo's greatest game series ever created, by bringing well over 10 of Nintendo's key franchises together to duke it out on the battlefield. Play as everyone's favorite plumber, Mario, or even as the ever-so-lovable Pikachu. Who would win in a fight: Ganondorf from the Zelda Series or Bowser from the Mario series? You can find out with the aid of Super Smash Bros. Brawl at your side, or even better, in your Wii console. Super Smash Bros does well in bringing the...

    Great multiplayer game! 1

If you like Nintendo, you will love Super Smash Bros. Brawl! It has a huge character roster. Bigger than any other fighting game to date. Some of the characters are pretty identical though. The game gives you a nice amount of characters to start with and you will eventually unlock more as you progress through the game.A new feature to the game is the Subspace Emissary mode. This is basically the single player mode of the game. Although you can play it with a friend as well. This mode plays like ...

Okay okay, I can admit that I am addicted to Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the Nintendo Wii. I played for about six hours straight yesterday trying my hardest to unlock Sonic the Hedgehog…no luck though. It’s okay, I can just play The Subspace Emissary portion of the game which plays like a side scroller with appearance from all the characters in Brawl, and unlock all the characters in the game that way. I actually haven’t tried out all of the playable characters yet because I kind of just stuck to...

    The Fight Continues 0

Strictly speaking, there are only two places that you can find an epic adventure featuring Mario, Link, Star Fox, Solid Snake, Sonic the Hedgehog, Samus, and many more all at once. One is the multitudes of often sub-par fan fiction online, and the other is “Super Smash Bros. Brawl” on the Nintendo Wii. It’s somewhat hard to imagine “Super Smash Bros.” needing an explanation at this point. The series, which started nine years ago on the Nintendo 64, has quickly become one of Nintendo’s most popu...

Super Smash Bros. Brawl, doesn't it have such a nice sound to it, lol, well let's get to the point, this game is so awesome! it is the 3rd game of the Smash Bros. series, which is a Nintendo fighting game, and IMO the best,  it's a little different from most fighting games, in most fighting games you have a HP bar at the top of your screen or something ,and it starts out full and then when you take damage it goes down until eventually you die or get KO'ed, but in this game, when you start a figh...
