Nintendo has opened up a suggestion box for future DLC characters for Smash 3DS/WiiU. You can check it out here: https://cp.nintendo.co.jp/us/

The submission deadline is 10/03/2015 which is kind of crazy. Does that mean they already have plans for a steady stream of DLC characters for the foreseeable future? There's already Mewtwo on the way and they just announced Lucas for June as well. Considering the time it would take to design and implement a new character, I wouldn't expect the fan-requested character to become available until December at the earliest. So what is going to fill the June-December gap? I'd wager on two more character releases or so, probably around August and October.

Oh, and clearly there is only one correct answer:

To be the person that has to sort through all of these Ridley requests... I'll probably submit Isaac. Or maybe Zant. There's so many options at hand here that I'm probably going to be thinking about this for awhile.

I suspect this might result in a single community-chosen character that gets created. So yeah, I guess between now and the deadline they have Mewtwo, Lucas, and maybe 1-2 others planned?

Once for Goemon, and another for Marina. The n64 doesn't have enough reps, I would have voted Majora, but he's already an assist trophy so who knows if they'll allow him as a character as well.

Yeah I'm pretty much hinging my bets on them using his non-SkullKid Wrath form if they add him at all since SkullKid is already a trophy. That seems like the one that would be more suited to fighting. If they're going purely by popular vote I know anything I vote for will be out voted by the more popular characters anyway, so better to take a chance regardless of likelihood.

Put my vote in for Goku and Hatsune Miku.

I suggested Twinrova. They're Ganondorf's MOTHER(s) for god sakes, they're in four games, and they would fill that Ice Climber hole with less lame characters. Think of the crazy moveset they would have. Bayonetta would also be great, I just think that this series needs more female representation. They could also do a Zelda/Sheik thing and change form to their unified version.

Jade from Beyond Good & Evil would be cool too.

Since Melee i've really wanted Jack from the original Harvest Moon to be included. I did send in the suggestion but i doubt enough people care about him. And besides, he would probably end up too similar to the villager.

I voted for Jaraxxus because, at this point I am convinced that Nintendo would sooner put WOW characters in Smash before Waluigi ever gets added.

I'd kind of love to see a Spaltoon Inkling as a fighter in Smash. Could be a really interesting fighter.

I just voted for Paper Mario. Yeah it may be another Mario at first glance, but he can have a unique move set based on stuff he's done in the games, like turning into paper airplanes and summoning his buddies for special attacks.

I also voted for Bald Bull from Punch-Out. I don't entirely agree with Jeff replacing Little Mac with BB in the 3DS quick look, but I agree in that he should be in the game. The Bull Charge would blend in so well with Smash Bros. And I may end up voting for Snake or Shovel Knight.

Apparently Phil Spencer is on board with letting Nintendo add Banjo and Kazooie to the next DLC so lots of people are voting for him. Seriously doubt Nintendo will take him up on that but it would be pretty cool I guess.

There are so many great characters to vote for but mine went to Rash. I've thought he would be PERFECT since Brawl was in development. Playing Battletoads for just a few minutes really shows how easy it would be to implement him. I feel like he has already, inadvertently, been designed for Smash.

Rash is an 8-bit NES era character and Microsoft recently renewed their Battletoads trademark. This combined with Phil Spencer's comments on being willing to work with Nintendo to put their IPs in Smash Bros. (namely Banjo) ...well, I really hope the stars align on this one.

I wouldn't mind seeing Bayonetta, Dixie Kong, Sora, or Snake again.

I wasted my vote on Mike Jones from Startropics. Still a more worthy pick than Waluigi.

I just keep voting for Ice Climbers. I wish they were still in there, I understand they had some issues with the 3DS version for some reason, but they and Lucas were the two characters that I missed the most. Now Lucas is confirmed, so I just want Ice Climbers back.
