    Let's mash some buttons!

First of all let me say that this is probably the second best Star Wars related game after Jedi Knight II for the PC. I found this game and a bunch of others in my brothers basement, and I played at last weekend for the first time. It was quite awesome! I played in one sitting, took me around 6 hours to finish. This game is very challenging and sometimes frustrating (specially the last two flying levels!) and anyone who is not used to good old way the games were played may throw the controller at the TV around the "Outside Sand Crawler" levels. I, however stuck with it and enjoyed the awesomeness of expriencing the original Star Wars' story through an awesome game.
Gameplay-wise, this game is 60 percent run-and-gun shooting, 30 percent really really hard platforming, and 10 percent "3D" flying levels. I personally liked the platforming parts better than all, and the flying levels were my least favorite. This game peaks around the time you get all the 3 heroes, Luke, Chewie and Mr. Han Solo himself at your disposal to choose from, and really sinks low in the last level which is an on-rails shooter following Luke as he is on his way to blow up the Death Star. I should mention that the designers of this game made some very wise choices, and this IS the definitive Star Wars exprience in form of videogames. This is a much better STAR WARS game than that piece of garbage The Force Unleashed.
The bottom line is if you have an old SNES lying around somewhere and you haven't played this game, get a copy of this off EBAY or somewhere and have some fun. And if you don't have an old SNES lying somewhere, you might want to get one, since some of the best games EVER made are out there for that system. People looking for some good old-school Star Wars-themed fun should definitely play this game.

A long time ago in a galaxy full of old-school frustration.... 0

When Super Star Wars was released in 1992, it was probably considered to be a very cutting edge game. It had amazing 2D graphics along with some impressive "3D" vehicle sequences....but it also had something that you don't see much of these days in games: extreme difficulty. The game loosely follows Episode IV: A New Hope. Now when I say "loosely" I mean it. It takes certain liberties with the story of the movie so it can make the game work like...well, a game! Sure, Luke didn't slaughter hundr...
