Everyone who plays online is good and I am not.
" i was gunna pull a cool story bro but decided not to as ur clearly already distraught ya i get raped in fighting games online especially stree....... aww fuck it Cool Story Bro "Thx bro, I thought it was a cool story too.
You gotta walk before you can run
You can't jump into the battlefield without a gun
Look before you jump
Unwrap the candy before chewing
Start with training wheels first
In other words, practice practice practice. The people who are more experienced and in tournaments were not that good in the beginning.
Dudes have played hundreds of hours of SFIV and probably already 50+ hours of SSFIV.
Hey guys I got this skateboard a couple days ago and I suck at it, I can't really do anything. There's these kids that have been skating for like 5 years and they are amazing at it. What's the deal!?
I do win the odd match, though the majority does have me getting pummeled. I keep going against the same fighters too, notably Ken and Ryu *shocker*.
You'd think it would me learn to fight against those two specifically but a well played Ryu can almost getta perfect against me =(. I'd like to think it's cause I play as noone but Dan...but I'll be the first to admit that's not such a valid excuse anymore ;P

"HAHAHA I like that just because I didn't say what my experience is, you guys think I feel like I'm supposed to be amazing. It's funny, because I don't. I just don't expect to be horrible after playing for a while that's all. I'm not an idiot, I know I'm not going to be the best player ever, I just want to stop feeling like i'm just watching the match and that I'm participating in it. I'm getting rolled up every match. I will continue to practice and stuff, I'm just venting.
play as Ken problem solved you should win like crazy
just remember to mash SRK and when you get up after a nasty fall SRK
oh and if they are across the screen a really easy way to get to them is SRK
I used to get pummeled all the time as well but slowly but surely my win percentage has been improving... especially since I got a fightstick :) But even with that, there's still a handful of characters that I know I have no chance of beating from the second I see the 'versus' load screen. I have encountered quite a few T.Hawks lately and I can't seem to beat them to save my life.
Practice... I know people don't like that word. But that's all there is to it. Once you get at least decent you will realize how lame everyone elses tactics actually are.
" play as Ken problem solved you should win like crazy just remember to mash SRK and when you get up after a nasty fall SRK oh and if they are across the screen a really easy way to get to them is SRK "HAHAHA how accurate! It is so sad too because Ken was my fave since SF2, but now he's literally untouchable because of all the cheese.

I haven't been playing for too long and i've always been bad at fighting games but i seem to be picking up on it pretty fast, all i did was find a fighter i liked, Juri, and just kinda studied her moves and practiced a bit and i'm already doing fine online

" No trap, I do suck. I am losing to everybody today, and to add insult to injury, the meanies are sending me messages after telling me how flowchart I am. Fuck my life :( "can we see the messages ? Make a video about them or something
" @MrMiyagi: I will be on in a half hour.Well hey at least you didn't break your fight pad and snap the disc in two like a certain someone we know >_>
@turbomonkey138: Nah, I was getting pissed and hit the almighty block communication button. Messages go buh bye! Losing to laggy mashers drives me absolutely ape shit. "
Oh I remember a huge outburst I had with Street Fighter IV that caused me to put the game down and ignore it for a good handful of months. I picked it up again one day after a pretty bad round of matches of Modern Warfare 2 and hit the trials. Completed them all for Ryu, Sagat, Akuma, and Dan and got my confidence back.
Dude multiplayer gaming is like riding a wave. If you stick with one game for awhile you get good at it but then a new game comes out and you switch and you suck and then before you can get used to that one another one comes out and you suck and then its just a vicious cycle until you stop and just give that game a shit load of attention, when I first started the Reach Beta I was getting my ass kicked, so I played for 6-7 hours straight, found a good wing man and started kicking some ass, you just kinda have to commit.
I just got the game last week and I haven't been able to stop playing (save for when I'm at work or something). But yeah, going online I've been my ass hand to me on a pretty regular basis, although I have noticed that people here in Europe don't spam Ken as much as in the States. I was almost always losing badly, then you sorta develop a sixth sense and a gradually started getting more hits and combos in, eventually the matches where tighter, then I even won a few rounds, 'til the point I've beaten a few people. So yes, practice helps. I do suggest practicing with other people, not just the AI (it's doesn't play realistically). My PSN name is neurogamer57, if any of y'all when wanna have fun nice friendly brawling, I'd be totally down with it. Great thread, GB community!
Hey, just keep pluggin' away. You're gonna have to lose a bajillion matches before you start winning even half your matches. Just learn the basics, the strategies, and the match ups and you'll be alright.
Don't obsess over wins and losses. Just enjoy the game.

" I think, as long as you know why your losing. Example, your getting hit by jump ins, cross ups, overheads or whatever, you can improve. However if your just like FUUUU- wtf is going on... then you have a lot to learn. "Yeah that's true Plasma, I'm ok with losing because at least my losses have been fair. Plus if I can't defend the cheapness that's my fault, just need to learn how to do it. I need to take some Ken lessons from Stang.

There is a PS3 community, we just don't seem to post as much.
I feel like i'm rubbish, yet I maintain a roughly 65% win ratio. But i'm still convinced I am really bad.
I more or less go 50/50. I'll lose 6 in a row, then come back and win 5 in a row. meh. I did a lot better when SF4 came out, everyone who bought SSF4 is already pretty good from playing the last one so the online is harder.
Ok, here is my wtf question. Why is it that it so much easier to beat seasoned veterans compared to random noobs? The better the person is, the better I play.....it has always been like that. You would think all the knowledge I have accrued over 800+ hours of this stupid fucking game would make it easy to beat randoms who are.....um.....random. But no, these are the people that are most likely to beat me. WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON???!!!!
