Nakky, aka Ms Natsuki Shiozawa, assistant producer to Yoshinori Ono, is teasing a new character on the Japanese Super Street Fighter 4 blog today. She is promising a "totally huge" update to the game's official site next week, coinciding with the release of the latest information in Weekly Famitsu.
She has posted half an image of Chun Li getting beaten up by the new character:
Nakky is promising a new character movie next week to accompany the reveal.
Anyway, if I didn't know that all characters have the black Sumi-e ink effect to some extent, I'd probably guess something dark and/or gooey like Arakune. Since I do know that, it could really be just about anybody with a wide arcing special move.
That is a very large arch isn't it...It's not much of a clue, but I expect it is a big surprise that's on the way next week.
I don't know about that, but I wouldn't say no to a dark character, or even better, a Darkstalkers character. I would love to see a cameo, as it would help build up support which Ono himself wants to see for a new Darkstalkers game.

I just wish they did it with more subtlety in this day and age, there's no need to make things so obvious, it kinda makes it feel tacky and cheap when they do.
Capcom recently removed the character "Genie" from Tatsunoko UA, because of fears it would cause an issue in the West. Given that, I don't know if there's truth to this recent rumour of an Arab oil baron. Having said that though, Genie was blatantly mocking Arabs in a stereotypical fashion, and would be deemed offensive by most people of Arabic extraction that saw him. This new guy if the rumours are true, might be totally fine and look cool though.
Well, they might as well just gave us a picture of Chun-li. This picture tells us almost nothing. Maybe if it had a small piece of their foot, hand, clothing, or whatever, then maybe we could make better guesses. Otherwise, this picture just frustrates me.
Edit: I guess the background could give the character away, maybe. If they're related, that is.
I really think Capcom need to show somebody new now, the leaks have taken the wind out these updates. A new character reveal now rather than later, would be better imo.
I heard one theory that the background is of Metro City, since there's a statue in the back that looks similar to Mike Haggar. Since some rumored characters were from the Final Fight series, it sounds plausible. If this is true, it may be Cody, Guy, or Rolento.

That view could well be right, I know I'm leaning towards Guy right now. Look where the industrial area is situated and where those skyscapers are in the pic above.
