Translated from a Japanese Wiki, EventHubs has put up a new tier list for our pleasure.  Remember, don't take this too seriously as tier lists can change drastically within a small period of time, plus the game hasn't been out for that long.

Never thought I'd see Chun at the top.

Total bs, retarded numbers, no credit. Chun at the top? Rufus ninth? Was probably put together by Japanese version of DSP.

I think the top 4 is acurate in my experience to be honest. I don't think Makoto is bottom, though.
 
Remember the top 20 characters here are only seperated by 20 matchup points. That's not alot. The game's fairly well balanced for the most part.

Also, quite weird that Abel and Rufus are lower. I figured they would be higher on the list.
 
EDIT: I also totally did not see E. Honda so high. Did Mike Ross use him in the Finals at Evolution 2010? That would really explain why he's so high on the list.

Whether any tier list can be credited as being reliable, what they all have in common at least is Guy being pretty low down on the scales :'(

Accurate or not, it warms my heart to see a tier list where Sagat isn't god-king of the Street Fighter universe.

If Makoto is really that low, I wonder if they'd fix her or give her something new for the arcade release (and then patch it into the consoles)? She just seems to be forming her own little tier at the bottom there, eight points below the joke character. So sad.

Just make it super easy to kara her moves and that should be enough to bump her up a few spots. Of course noobs would stilll complain since they don't know how to kara anything.  "

You may want to do some research on Kara before you jump to any conclusions. 
 
That list doesn't look so bad. Rufus is higher in America.

The more and more I look at this list the more and more I start to agree with it... FFFUUUU~~

Like any tier list there's imediate backlash but after it sinks in it becomes more and more sane. I'm sticking with what I said the day it came out and think it's a pretty acurate list. People were just reading it wrong thinking the tiers were as spaced as they were in SFIV or even Third Strike when this game is incredibly balanced for a fighting game. It still needs alot of tweaks though so hopefully they patch that at some point this year.
