I’ve been curious about what resolution other members here at Giant Bomb use while playing Super Street Fighter IV. I’ve been using 1080i on my Xbox 360 when I got my HDTV back in 2007, but lately I’ve been thinking about using 720p when I play Super Street Fighter IV. I’ve been thinking that my TV might have some HD lag when I use 1080i on my 26” TV, which is rather small for a TV for 1080i. Should I start using 720p or just use the 1080i up scaling? That’s what I’ve been thinking lately.
So share some thoughts about what resolution you use will playing the game.

What resolution do you use when playing this game?
I think 1080i/p is barely noticeable from 720p for HDTV's that are 40 inches and less. And usually, if the game is made native 720p, more people say the game will look better at its native resolution than upscaling it.
1080i, it would be too much of a hassle to switch it between 720p and 1080i every time I played something that wasn't Super, even if it gave me slightly better reaction windows.
Playing on my 1080p 37 inch samsung. I couldn't be happier with my setup :). Well, I could, but hey!
I don't know if the game actually runs in 1080p, but I'm pretty sure I've put my PS3 to that resolution.
I JUST got my 1080p TV last week, I fucking love the thing. I had this giant glass jar I took from work. I spray-painted it gold and super-glued the lid on it. After putting all the coins I got into it (excluding pennys) and dropping bill into it every once and awhile, by the time I broke down and opened it, I had $497, and lucky me, Best Buy had a 40" 1080p HDTV on sale for $500.
Its either 720p or 1080i but since my TV is only 32" and humans cannot detect a difference between two on sets under 42" I tend to stick with 720p.
" Its either 720p or 1080i but since my TV is only 32" and humans cannot detect a difference between two on sets under 42" I tend to stick with 720p. "The funny this is that I can actually tell the difference between 720p and 1080i on my 26" Nothing drastically different, but I can see the difference.
The game doesn't run in 1080p, so if you're playing in 1080p it is being upscaled from 720p, which will probably cause latency.
My tv is a 46" 1080p which I have my PS3 set for however for most ps3 games, the output swaps to 720p as that is what the native resolution (the 360 always technically outputs to 1080p since it has a built in scaler even if the games themselves are 720p). I have had console hooked to monitors in the past that were 720p/1080i, personally, I find the 720p to be a better, crisper picture as 1080i is essentially 540 lines of vertical resolution that have been doubled and interlaced.
If you go into your ps3 preferences, make sure you have 720p as an output option checked as otherwise, if it has to upscale it to 1080i/p, I believe it has an effect on latency.
