This is my first ever 2D fighting game, so I'm new to all this. I seem to be pretty good, because out of about 100 matches, I won 11. Fear me. But there is one problem - Combos seem 10x harder when I'm facing to the right. My thumb just doesn't go that way naturally. I simply can't do an ultra at all, but facing left, I'm good. I hate when it's a close fight and I want to pull my ultra to win, but I can't because I get K.O'd because I'm desperately trying to get to the right side.

Why can't I pull ultras when facing right?
Same here actually, it seems easier to pull of ultras and other moves when i'm facing left. Maybe I just got used to being a second player when playing ranked matches lol! I don't know, maybe it's just a thumb preference hehe!
you may be missing part of the motion go into training mode and turn inputs on and watch what your motions are when you try to do an ultra. Also what I do is when im facing left I use the tip of my thumb to make motions. When im facing right I use the middle of my thumb where the joint is the make motions.
" Hmm, I suck at pulling Ultras off when facing left. I believe we are opposites. "You and me both.
I've got the opposite problem. Doing moves to the outside of my stick (so the left) is easy, while doing moves towards my buttons (to the right) is so much harder.
first 2d fighting? in the 90s 2d fighting was huge. nowadays all about fps. i used to every side cuz i play many 2d fighting. jus play many time in right side u get used to.
" This is my first ever 2D fighting game, "Christ, really? You haven't lived.
Anyway- what controller are you using?
i have the same problem...but here's what i think...
when i'm in training, I watch my hands instead of the screen sometimes to actually see what i'm inputing.
I notice how much when facing right my point and middle finger dictate your movement without a vast amount of support from my thumb, but when inputting while facing left my thumb stabilizes my movement ,as well as my fingers start to hook giving better grip because i'm pulling outward..
facing right i'm pushing foward inward making it much more difficult to control...
atleast thats my issue on the fightstick...

"It's kind of like writing left or right handed, like pushing or pulling a pen. 1 way feel more natural. I'm the same way go to my right. And part of is figuring out what works on your stick (if you're using one).
