Swingin' Ape is a studio that was originally founded in 2000 by ex-Midway developers. In 2005, the studio was acquired by Blizzard Entertainment.
Swingin' Ape Studios was founded in July 2000 by Mike Starich, Steve Ranck, and Scott Goffman, after they had just finished development on Hydro Thunder for Midway. The first game they released was Metal Arms: Glitch in the System, a positively reviewed game for Xbox, GameCube, and PlayStation. After that, they started work on Starcraft: Ghost, which they continued to work on until 2005, when they were acquired by Blizzard Entertainment. Development of Starcraft: Ghost is currently on hold, and it is unknown how much of the original team of Swingin' Ape Studios still work at Blizzard.| Company Name | Swingin' Ape Studios |
