Why hasn't there been any reviews for this yet? It comes out in under 20 hours, is the embargo really this close to the release? I'm not sure how well this bodes for the game!

Dude, it's Monday.

@FauxNinja: EA has a review embargo on all sites from running reviews until day after release.

Lots of games have their embargos right up until midnight of the games release day.

Because it is early in the day in the US and Syndicate comes out on the 24th in Europe.

There are already plenty of unofficial reviews from ppl who got the game early and, likely as not, a lot of pirates.. Common themes seem to be 6-7 hour sp campaign, average to above average shooter, style more in common with deus ex than the old syndicate games.

Aha, thanks, I hadn't seen any discussion regarding it, was wondering whether it was just being forgotten or over embargoed.

All I know is that multplayer demo had me hooked despite freezing my xbox a couple of times and the single player looks like it will have an interesting campaign.

Fingers crossed :) I'm gonna remain optimistic and wait for reviews to roll in :D

We didn't know how to break it to you, but the game is cancelled. Weird since it's about to come out, but Starbreeze was like, "Nope!"

Yeah that's kinda what I mean by only pretty good, I don't expect it to blow my mind or anything as neither Riddick or Darkness did but it should at least be fun and well made.

nah son, bascially if you know your game is not "skyrim level" universal acclaim, and may have asshats pick it apart for channel/page views, you put an embargo up on the review.

it looks to be a very solid fps, with cool design and characters. nothing ground breaking, but certainly worth 60 bucks if thats what your into

Or $40 if you preorder games from Amazon regularly. They had a $20 promotion going on Syndicate since like December.

All EA games have the same embargo including Dead Space 2 and Mass Effect 2.

Starbreeze has a solid track record, so I'm betting an entertaining sp campaign at least, and I already love the co-op from the demo, so w/the Amazom $20 promotion, it's not much of a gamble. Really looking forward to it Tuesday, reviews be damned.

A ton of those head guys left and started a new studio with Bethesda. They are working on something using the new id tech.

Good news, though. Starbreeze is going to make a sequel to The Darkness. They are fully aware there's already a sequel, but they're confident theirs will be the "true Darkness II".

It will be like the ExorcistPrequels, but ... not ... suck.

seems like Co-Op is the meat of the game while the single player is nothing spectacular.
