    Hits the spot

I love dystopian sci-fi. I love eye candy and palpable atmosphere. Same goes for tight responsive controls combined with innovative gameplay.

This game is short and sweet, like a light snack. What is lacks in game time it more than makes up for in pure fun. The game truly hits its stride with the co-op, which is surprisingly successful, challenging and really forces you to join forces with your companions: constantly watching their backs and breathing a sigh of relieve when somebody saves your ass.

I has some technical issues and couldn't play the game for a week after release. I managed to get it to work in the end but this has left a slightly bitter taste in my mouth.

However, this game should hit all the right buttons for sci-fi FPS enthusiasts. It is great fun while it lasts, and over too soon. I for one will be in front of the queue for the follow-up game.

On the game play side of things, there's some really cool systems in the single playe...

In this age of multi-million dollar shooters and inflated development budgets, it’s impossible to imagine a reboot of a 90’s classic strategy game not undergoing some serious changes to appeal to the average player. Rather than try to update an old formula, Starbreeze Studios (they of The Chronicles of Riddick and The Darkness fame) have taken the name and a few thematic elements of 1993’s Syndicate and bolted them on to an admittedly competent and satisfying first-person shooter that manages to...
