In Taiko Drum Master, play familiar songs to the beat of the titular Japanese instrument. Additional minigames are included which take advantage of the bundled drum peripheral.
Gameplay
Symbols moving horizontally along a timeline show what to hit and when. Home versions distinguish single and double strikes, arcade versions hard and soft strikes.
Normal size notes are single strikes. Bigger sized notes are double strikes.
Red notes require hitting within the left or right of the drum face. Blue notes require hitting the rim of the drum.
Successful play builds up a life meter, which if it gets past a certain point by the end of the song, the song is passed.
