Anyone know if this is just an updated version of the ps2 game engine? I played the demo and it looked crisp in HD but as for the graphics themselves it looked very similar to the ps2 games

I think it might just be the art style used that looks similar. It seems like a big upgrade from Tales of the Abyss.

How did you play the demo? (assuming its not on psn yet) when I first saw this game it definately caught my attention,and it looks beautiful. I believe its a new engine though,purposely stylized to look like a water painting from what i've heard.

If i remember , this is a brand new engine. Just that there choice of art style makes it look kind of the same.
