anyone heard much about the online for this game? im kinda wondering if i can play across live with a few of my buddies

From what I have read the coop is not online.  Can play up to 4 players on one console from what I remember.

I THINK it is local multiplayer only.

I am 100% confident that there will be no online co-op. In some interview with someone on IGN, they said it was because they thought that other people standing by after battles would get bored watching only the host move around the World Map.

And there's no arena mode either? That's too bad.

The Tales series has the tradition of adding a colosseum to every game where you can fight main characters from previous games. It would've been cool if they just let you take on somebody else's party online through there.

I need to make more gamer friends IRL for local coop :P

I guess I can try convincing my wife to play.....  that or wait for my now 4 month old son to be older! God I can't wait to game with him! :)

It's only offline co-op...If it had online then I may have thought about actually picking it up.

the only real online it has is downloadable content and leaderboards for game completion time, most damage, etc
