    Tarquinn's backstory is not seen in game, but the Rock N' Roll Racing instruction manual offers the following:

    Tarquinn is everyone's hero. He was raised from poverty in Aurora and became a Starship Captain, the highest military rank ever to come from his planet. He appears in cosmic talkshows and gets paid well for doing it. Now, with Rock N' Roll Racing™ the biggest sport in the universe, he wants to prove himself as the best race car driver, and the only driver worthy of the Indianapolis Cup.
