If we're to get another L.A. Noire game, it will most likely be developed at a Rockstar studio.
If we're to get another L.A. Noire game, it will most likely be developed at a Rockstar studio.

We may not see a sequel to L.A. Noire crafted by former Team Bondi leader Brendan McNamara, but he will continue to make video games, as revealed in an interview with film director George Miller.

Miller spoke with Financial Review, and revealed he was partnering with Kennedy Miller Mitchell Interactive, a combination of former Krome Studios and Team Bondi employees, to develop a Mad Max video and McNamara’s next project, the currently dubbed Whore of the Orient.

Parts of Team Bondi lives on, even if it’s not called Team Bondi anymore. The LA Noire developer ran into financial turmoil after the game’s release in May, forcing the studio to dissolve, but some of its employees, including McNamara, joined Kennedy Miller Mitchell Interactive.

There’s no timetable for either game, but former God of War designer Cory Barlog was once working with Miller on the long-gestating Mad Max video game. Miller has been trying to get a new movie off the ground for years, as well.

Max to da MAX!!! I would watch this film since it would probably involve lots and lots of stupidity.

Starring Max von Sydow in his final role (because he exploded): Max Max.

    In theaters this summer.

I'm actually happy with this. L.A. Noire had a fucked up development cycle where McNamara probably did a lot of bad things. Now, public eye is upon him, and he has a chance to prove that he can change. And people CAN change, whether it's for better or worse; people change when they meet a loved one that makes them happier than they used to be, when they have confidence from releasing a product that people actually want to play, when a parent dies, etc.

Good luck, Mr. McNamara. You selected too many good people to make L.A. Noire, and that game felt it, but you have another chance.

    The better recipe of success:

    1) Hire on the rank and file of Team Bondi.

    2) Tell McNamara to choke on a dick.

    "whore of the orient"?

Yeah.... that's not a good title. Aside from the unfortunate title, I am genuinely curious to see what type of game it would be: perhaps exploring drug trade in Asia during the late 19th century? There aren't enough game set during that terrible, yet fascinating time in world history.

But they should change the title. For, uh, reasons. You know....

    ....

    .....

    .......

    The racism.

Okay, it's not cool that George Miller wrestled away Mad Max: Fury Road from Avalanche. I'd rather see a Mad Max game from the developers of Just Cause 2 than the developers of LA Noire and the Wii/PS2 version of the Force Unleashed 1.

Secondly, good for Australia that KMM decided to pick up ex-Bondi team members and ex-Krome staffers. I'm just guessing here, but I believe they're the biggest developer down under now that Krome has been significantly downsized, and Bondi/Blue Tongue/THQ Studio Oz have been closed down.

But thirdly, wasn't the guy in charge of LA Noire notoriously awful at his job? As in, "If Rockstar Producers didn't step in and start reigning things in, the game would never have been finished"-inefficient? This Fury Road game will be awful if that guy - Brendan McNamara - is in any sort of higher up position at this new developer.

Good luck KMM. I'm certain there are many, many talented artists and programmers working there. And I'm glad they have a new studio. AND I'm glad you're doing more than just doing the VFX for shitty movies like Happy Feet. But I certainly hope they have better directors/producers/designers than Mr. McNamara. That dude sucks. I mean, his mis-management is responsible for tanking a whole studio.

You can go 3rd person in Fallout, don't think it runs as well as Skyrim but it's still an option.
