    Are you downloading the whole TF2, or just the update? Because the update shouldn't take that long, even at 60kb/s.

    When I was first trying to download it around 10 pm EST the day it was released I was getting in the bytes/sec range. The servers bounced back quickly enough through :D

    Yeah I was hitting the 1.2 MB/Sec range a few times when I downloaded the update.  My connection is not anything special, actually it kind of sucks when it comes to downloading.  Steam is the only thing that gives me fast download speeds.
