I think the spy class takes the most skill.
What do you guys think?

What TF2 class do you think takes the most skill?
Heavy/scout
Heavy needs to know when enough is enough, and scout needs to know when it is appropriate to run away versus pursuing a target.
Demo probably, if you don't just sit around waiting for people to walk near your stickies all the time.
"Keyword requires.I agree
Spy is the only class that you can't luck out with all the time I'd say. Scout requires a fair bit of accuracy and speed as well. Demoman is second nature after a while however, though he might require a little skill at first."
I play mostly demo, and I do think the way I play the class, I use a lot of experience and skill. However, you can easily luck kills with demo too, or just camp and play negatively.
I am rubbish with most other classes. The one class I dont play, because I cant even luck a bit of success, is the Spy.
Just to do even half decent as a spy, you need to be cunning, skilled and experienced.
I would have to agree with the spy. Every kill is deliberate (you won't be getting any offscreen kills like with the demo man, and you can't just pepper everything and run away like the scout), and every move must count. As a scout, you can get yourself into a mess and skitter away. As the spy, if you time your cloaking even a second too late or too early, you are going to get run down and killed. The spy is also called upon to be a bit of a psychic, as you must know where enemies are going to be, even if you aren't in the room yet. Unfortunately, as is the spy is kind of unifaceted. You can backstab guys who aren't paying attention, you can try to pursue someone running away from you, or you can die. It used to be that the spy was the #1 sentry killer, but the sapper nerf stopped that in its tracks. Perhaps with one of the next updates the spy will be recast as an uber killer, or a capture disrupter via some new weaponry.
Man I dunno, my favorite class is the demoman and I've become pretty good at it. I tend to think the scout is the toughest. I poured hours into that class and got nothin'. Some people will wreck you though. The spy can be challenging but I think you can get down a pattern of behavior. Also knowing when to back off, there's a escalation game there and sometimes they'll just lock you out if you push too hard. Pyro requires some stellar ambushing but I don't think it's necessarily difficult.
Well, I think spy is probably the hardest class to learn, but soldier and demoman are the hardest to master. While anyone can just shoot rockets randomly or place stickies anywhere, really good players can absolutely devastate. What's hard is getting the trajectories perfect. It takes an assload of practice to be able to launch a person up and then hit them in the air with a pipe bomb or rocket.
I think they all take skill to be really good at. One class that is being overlooked is the sniper. I really good sniper is able to dominate and get headshot after headshot without getting killed. Another is demo-man. It takes skill to kill over and over especially in close quarters because they don't have a close attack. Timing sticky bomb jumps is also pretty tricky.
Spy has the steepest learning curve, as he in only really effective once a knowledge of the map is attained. Otherwise, it's difficult to gauge when and where to cloak while not being seen. That, and people are far better at spotting Spies these days. Early on, Spy was pretty easy because no one thought to look for them, but now you'd be hard pressed to find an unguarded sentry gun or a Medic without his head on a swivel.

Spy and Medic. I play spy very well, and I have to say it's really become second nature for me. Some people watch those videos and stuff to get better but it's really not necessary. Although I did see one recently that at least gave me some names for the things I was already doing...
Stalking
Leapstabbing
Illusions
Corner cutting
All of those become obvious and second nature after a while. But it doesn't mean spy is easy, he's the hardest by quite a lot I would say.
And the second is Medic, because just so few people play him well.
spy is what i play most so its pretty hard but ive gotten great but the demo man is hard depending on what your doing if your using his first weapon then i find it hard but i like to use his secondary weapon and set traps for people
I agree i play spy well but it requires a lot of training and research but personally i think that demo is the hardest class
I was gonna say something sarcastic, but this thread is from when classes were balanced. So you get a pass.
5 years ago I would probably either say Spy or Scout. Now everything is so jacked its hard to tell, too many setups of gear and potential countergear. It sure as hell isn't Spy anymore though.
