Is there anyone else who just can't stop playing this game?
It never gets boring...especially if you have a group of friends or regulars that you play with.

I always play this game too. It is mind blowingly amazing.  Ask Snide, he also loves this game to this day.

Do a lot of people still play this game? I still haven't ever played it, though I've recently gone back to the Orange Box and am in the middle of Half-Life 2. After I beat it and both episodes, I'm planning on going online and giving Team Fortress 2 a shot.

I only got the game the other week from Thordain (SEE MY BLOG!!!*), and I'm really enjoying it. I've been playing the same map for nearly 15+ hours and I've still yet to play 3/4 of the other official maps. Hasn't got boring yet.

*shameless self-promotion

I only got it recently, and I'm having trouble connecting to games. It sure looks cool though. I'm going to mess about with my internet settings tomorrow to see if I can convince it to play TF2.

There's a ton of people that play this game still on the PC. I play it all the time still, think I have like 64k+ accumulated points. I wonder how that translates into hours played.

You should probably try out some different servers...

Team Fortress 2 is my life(apart from a bit of L4D).

Hey Thordain, finally got to play with you the other day, hope we can play more often. I play A LOT. No game has pulled me away for the past year or so...and I've passed by L4D, Crysis Wars, Red Alert 3, Far Cry 2, COD WAW, etc. etc.

The PC game has a huge following. I play every night for at least an hour. It's closing in on Quake 2 and WoW as games I've spent the most hours on.

I've been playing since launch. Though not much these days since it's mostly rage inducing now. Anything less than a 5:1 KD means I have to beat myself up.

TF2 on the PC has a ridiculous following, its shocking how popular that game became and continues to become. Great game, one of the best for sure.

I've only played 70 hours. I stopped for a few reasons. Firstly crits. Didn't bother me at first but as I became good I came to the realisation that I could never truly dominate when sometimes new and bad players get extra bonus damage and kill me. Second reason was the achievements. The introduction of the medic achievements was terrible it made 90% of people farm for them. The achievements themselves I thought weren't progress based, but rather do something stupid to get your weapon unlocks. Crits mostly though, I probably would still be playing if it didn't have them, achievements aren't a big deal.

Yep, for sure. With all the updates that valve have put out for it, and constant great community and following, its still a blast like it was when it first came out. I had a year and a half of downtime on a shitty ass PC that had big problems where Steam and plenty of other programs just wouldn't work on it, plus it blue screened every time I enter a game(and it was just shit, barely ran the game well anyway). Got my new PC around September of 08, so I had a lot of downtime on TF2, but been into it a ton since then. It's an amazing game, and with the strong following it has, plus constant updates its gotten, its just as fun as ever and will remain.

nocrit servers exist. farming only happens after class updates. so... ya :)

Been playing this regularly since it came out. Continue to love it, and amazingly I also continue to discover more effective ways of approaching all situations. Unfortunately this means I've been regularly topping the score board with ease every single time I play for months on end, but it remains fun! :D

The game does indeed have a massive PC following. It's snugly inside the top several multiplayer PC games with regards to players and servers, with no shortage of either ever.

i have to agree with you on the medic update, the acheivements were poor, but the pyro update was fantastic, great acheivements although one problem i thought was obvious was that you got the axe last, and it was almost impossible to get the axe kills without it.

I'm still playing and I have no reason to stop. I'm looking forward to the new Scout update (even though it's my least played class) as it's supposed to have new maps and a new game mode.

Play on no-crit servers. I do all the time. TF2's competitive potential is possibly even greater than that of CS since it is such a dynamic and strategy based game - its not just a twitch based game like CS where one person can carry the entire team.

It's incredible how Valve can innovate with Single player and multiplayer shooters.

I just started up again after a 3-month love affair about this same time last year, and I gotta say it's great to be back, especially with the new updates released and on the horizon. It's my multiplayer comfort game.

I cant stop playing TF2 either. I own the game on PC and 360 and ive put in ALOT of hours on each version. The PC version is obvisouly the best because of all the newest updates and user made levels,etc.. But its also still fun on 360 to.

Best online game this gen imo!

Never gets boring!
