The inner Resistance 3 artwork is nice too...minimalistic version of the regular cover art...I switched it the second I opened te case and saw it.

This is one of the things that might actually make me buy a PS3 at long last.

I was one of those people who scanned and printed off the original, non-awful Ico box art for my copy.

First Resistance 3, now this. Holy shit Sony, if you put these awesome reverse covers on every game I will love you forever. I hope Uncharted 3's is something awesome, same for Twisted Metal.

Somebody has probably already said it by now, but this kind of thing should be standard practice. You can have your logos and promotional material as long as you have a reverse cover with superior box art.

But you're right. Considering those masterpieces, there are 4 lines of text. I guess this really is an article now.

That old US Ico box art is so bad. I remember hearing about it multiple times and finally googling it one time... What a shock that was.

The UK copy of ICO I got at the time of release had the same (good) art work as the Japanese version, so don't know why America had a different cover.

I still have my PS2 copy of ICO and I must be the only person on the planet that likes the US boxart. It's great. The kid looks like he's about to wreck somebody with that stick. 

@Pr1mus: Being concise is fine. It's when there's a 6-to-1 ratio of picture to text area that it starts to look like all fluff and no content.

@MrKlorox: Actually, the cover for Ico is fucking legendary for how awful it is in the states. I remember being in awe of the original and was impressed that they actually did something so... artsy. And when I saw the US cover, all I could think was: Damn, that's to bad. So yeah, this warrants a news post. Patrick isn't posting everything from /r/gaming from Reddit like some other website about video games.

I'll pick this up, Shadow of the Colossus was already a great looking game but at 1080p and running at 60fps the game will look phenomenal.

Meanwhile, if this were a Nintendo article I guess there'd be a tangent about "no new games, just rehashing collections. Can't live off nostalgia forever and many many people agree with me I'm just reporting on the normal folks no spin zone". 

II really don't see why consumers would be annoyed by company logos, we just stack our games on a shelf and the only time we look at the box art is when we to play a game. 
 
If they start putting massive company logos mid-centre then I would be slightly annoyed but until this I never even thought about company logos on my game boxes. 
 
The most interesting this in this article was the fact I just found out that The Last Guardian wont be at TGS, I assume this has been reported on before but I missed it, I assumed it would be there this year thinking it's got to be released hopefully early next year, but it not being a TGS is clear that games is not coming untill fall of next year at the earliest, very disappointing, Although I am all for developers taking as long as they need to get the game right after this long my excitement is falling but I am sure that will come back once the game surfaces again.
