Even though I've been playing for hours and I've tried every mode and advanced to 7th Kyu (as shown on th 'report' section of the main menu), my status is still Beginner and fav character is Lars!! 
Is it broke? 
 
O and just a quick question, in the practice mode is there a way of playing through a characters moveset? In T5 and DR you could put a move on 'hold' and then use the D-Pad 2 move through em, did they remove this?

For the favorite character thing, you need to go to the options and tell it who your favorite character is.
