    I just started Terraria yesturday (and love it!) however I've made 1 house for the guide and then a 2nd one next to the edged out cave. To hold things I found plus easier to jump into the cave this way. However I got the 50 silver for the merchant and build a home on top of the guides but he decided to live in the one next to the cave. Is there a way to move him to the one by the guide?

    Remove all the light-sources and the table and chair inside their current one.

    Top speed up the process you can use lava to kill them, make sure you have blocked in the npcs in though.
