" The early Beatles catalog is not as interesting as the latter stuff.  The dreamscapes make notes harder to see, and the lag calibration is sort of crappy. "
That first point in a bit opinionated, and really their earlier songs are, in general, a bit more upbeat than their later songs. I've also had no problems with seeing anything; matter of fact, I only have had a hard time concentrating when the regular RB goes all black and white and flashes like crazy.

And what's wrong with the lag calibration? Mine took like five minutes to for the stupid camera thing on the guitar to finally register the flashing light on the TV, but once it got it the calibration was perfect.

" Oh, and by the way, Elenor Rigby doesn't have a single Rock Band instrument in it and would only be vocals.  You could also argue that a bunch of the other songs you listed would be equally terrible for a Rock Band title because of that. "
Bingo, a bunch of the best beatles stuff wouldnt be rock band compatible

Maybe you missed the part where Apple Corp had the last word on everything. These songs will most likely be put in as DLC because they know they can make more money after the release. Blame Apple not Harmonix

No.... if they wanted to milk us for money they wouldn't have changed anything of the game at all and just threw new songs in. (i.e. GH: 80s and GH Aerosmith)
