GDI on the other hand has found Tiberium to be deadly to humans and wishes to remove it from Europe, also using Tiberium as a resource to fund their defense. However some Humans & Animals such as Dogs whohave been effected by Tiberium for a long time and rather then dieing they became Mutants, abominations infused with Tiberium that are not accepted by those not affected. If CABAL has his way, every Human will become a Cyborg obeying only him. Who will you fight for, man or machine?
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 – October 2000
Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 is a follow up to Command And Conquer Red Alert. Like the first game Red Alert 2 takes place in a alternate universe where Albert Einstein used his Chronosphere time machine to go back in time and remove Hitler from history in the 1930s. Unfortunately this logic proved to be short-sighted, as the elimination of Hitler and the Third Reich gave the Soviet Empire an opportunity to invade most of Europe, sparking off a new World War II, this time between the Soviets and the Allied nations. In Red Alert 2, the Soviet Union is back and, with the help of a powerful Psychic commander on their side, managed to execute a successful invasion of the United States. You are an Allied US commander and your mission is to defend the country and defeat the Soviets once and for all.
The weapons and technology in the game is based off of a "what if" scenario. What if many of the crazy experimental weapons and technologies from the 40s and 50s, such as mind control, time travel, tesla coils, and cloaking devices were real? These unique themes give the game a wackier, less serious feel than other Command and Conquer games. The game play keeps up a speedy pace with players being able to simultaneously construct buildings, infantry and vehicles in their respective "tabs." Battles can take place in the air, on land, or even in the open seas. Players expand their forces by gathering resources called "ore" just like in Red Alert 1, that is found in open fields near your startig positions and strewn thoughout most maps. Other means of expansion include using engineers to capture civilian structures such as oil fields to give you extra resources or airfilelds that allow you to recieve a steady stream of reinforcements throughout the battle.
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 – Yuri's Revenge – Oct 2001
Take command of Yuri's Army and wield devastating weapons built on forbidden technologies. Enslave minds, clone armies, create genetically mutated Brutes, spread biological viruses, and generally destroy your enemies in the worst ways imaginable. Both the Allied and Soviet armies get new, powerful weapons including the Allies' Robot Control Center and the Guardian GI. The new Soviet weaponry includes the Siege Chopper and Boris, a machine-gun totting commando who can call down MiG bombing strikes. New in-game movies tell the story of Yuri and his insidious plot, bringing back popular characters from Red Alert 2, including Tanya, Eva, Romanov and even Dugan who died in Red Alert 2. Wage war throughout time as you fight from the Jurassic Era to the Space Age. Battles take place on a variety of terrain such as desserts, jungles, icebergs and even the moon. Finally there are 10 new co-op missions and many new multiplayer maps to enjoy.
Command & Conquer: Renegade – February 2002
You are commando Nick 'Havoc' Parker and are responsible for leading the fight against Nod in this FPS based on the origional 1995 Command & Conquer world. Formerly a part of the Dead Six, which you meet throughout the game, you have decided to go solo as a elite commando. You find out that one of your Dead Six members, who is also your Ex, has joined Nod while the other 4 struggle to keep the group together. Although you never fight or see Kane directly, you see a hologram of him ordering his troops and talking directly to you if you kill them. Instead of Kane there are several new generals for you to fight including a stereotypical French soldier, who your Ex is in love with, and a stereotypical Russian General.
Will you be able to beat Nod, bring back your Ex gone Nod back to GDI & The Dead Six and beat the thousands of Nod that stand between you and your goal?
Command & Conquer: Generals – Feb 2003
Command and Conquer Generals is a more realistic spin-off of the popular sci-fi RTS game. The game takes place in the near future where the USA, Communist China, and a terrorist group called the Global Liberation Army (or GLA) are fighting for control of the world. Gameplay is your typical fast-paced C&C style RTS, but it is based more in reality. This is the first game to use the SAGE Engine, as such it is the first Command & Conquer game to be in 3D.
More importantly this is the first game to be made from EA LA which is why you no longer see a Westwood logo on the game. Most of the Westwood team that origionally made Command & Conquer left the company rather then moving to EA LA. Perhaps fearing that the mostly new team wouldn't do the origional two series justice, they decided to make C&C Generals. After Generals many more former Westwood guys left the company and EA completely abandoned the C&C series in favor of Lord of the Rings intill 2007 when C&C 3: TIberium Wars was finally released, 6 years after Yuri's Revenge.
USA
The USA is the most technologically advanced of the three factions, but its units are also the most expensive as the result. Their resource gatherers are Chinook helicopters that can also airlift troops to distant locations. The USA can easily dominate the air, becuase of their many unique aerial options that include stealth fighters, F22 raptors, Comanche choppers, and supersonic bombers. Another standout feature of the USA is their ground vehicles ability to create drones that can do helpful things like adding an extra machine gun or missle, or even allow the vehicle to automatically repair itself. The USAs superweapon is a particle beam cannon
China
The Chinese are the war mongers of C&C Generals, becuase of their devastating nuclear weapons, cheap tanks that can easily swarm enemies, and napalm that burns enemy infantry to ashes. Besides their cheap and efficient Battlemaster tank and their infantry burning dragon tank, the chinese can also build a huge hulking tank called an Overlord that features 2 main turrets, and can be outfitted with a gattling cannon, a bunker for troops to shoot out of, or a propaganda spewing speaker tower. The chinese can also build a mobile artillery unit called an inferno cannon that, when grouped with 2 other inferno cannons can lit enemy building on fire. The Chinese superweapon is a nuclear missle that the character can fire whenever they want.
GLA
The GLA is the most resourceful and strategy intensive of the three factions who favor speed over power. The perfect example of this would be the technical, which is a pickup truck with a mounted LMG in the back, that can also carry troops, which makes it very efficient for small raids. Most of the GLA's vehicles though are salvaged Soviet era tech, and as a result, are not exactly the most powerful peices of metal on the battlefield. However the GLA more than makes up for this with unique infantry units, like the sucider bomber, or the highjacker. One of my favorite infantry units of the GLA's is the angry mob. The angry mob, when combined with a tech upgrade called arm the mob, is a devasting force that tears through infantry and building alike using Molotov cocktails and AK-47s. Many of the GLAs lighter vehicles center around the use of poison, which can be very useful for instantly clearing out building filled with enemy infantry. The poison is also used in the GLA's super weapon, the scud storm, this missle barage loaded with poison can quickly level any and all infantry and building that are unfortunate enough to stand beneath it.
Command & Conquer: Generals – Zero Hour – September 2003
Command & Conquer: Generals - Zero Hour expands the number of Generals you can use by adding 2 variant Generals to each faction for a total of 9 Generals. Continue the campaign against terrorists & communism in 15 new missions or engage fight Generals from around the globe as you match strategies and arsenals against 9 masterminds of modern war with unpredictable personalities and tactics. Unleash 30 new units and 20 new upgrades including China's ECM Tank, the GLA's Battle Bus, and the USA's Specter Gunship. Modern warfare has never seen the likes of these hysterically stereotypically insane unadaptive Generals before.
Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars – March 2007
Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars tells the third chapter of Earth's Tiberium-laden history, of the transcendence of the seemingly ageless Kane, the supposed final victory of the GDI over the Brotherhood of NOD, and the invasion of the Scrin, an alien race of incredible destructive power with technology that's built from Tiberium itself. For this game and its expansions, EALA has brought together an eclectic cast of character actors to comprise the roles of GDI and NOD forces, as well as Joseph D. Kucan to reprise the role of the enigmatic and immortal Kane.
Viewed in a default isometric point of view, Command & Conquer 3 puts you in the role of a field commander of whichever faction you choose. You're given complete strategic command over the battlefield, and are tasked with the job of destroying the enemy through the collection of resources, which are used to increase the number of forces you have at your disposal and the size and capabilities of your base, which unlocks special abilities, advanced units, and super weapons. Built around the SAGE engine, C&C3 plays much like it's predecessor, C&C: Generals, and features a robust construction menu system, allowing the user to queue up a large number of buildings and units to quickly create a powerful attack force. Additionally, you'll need to protect your base with a range of defensive structures, such as turrets and missile launchers..
Commander & Conquer 3 is unique among the C&C games for
introducing a third faction, the Scrin. Between the three races to
choose from, the game offers a wide range of tactical gameplay choices
in the game's skirmish and multiplayer modes. The GDI is a juggernaut,
with powerful ballistic units but limited defense. NOD's technology is
highly advanced but focused on stealth, featuring fantastically
powerful defensive structures but relatively weak offensive units. The
Scrin is a mixture of both, with incredibly powerful air units, weak
ground units, and a single, powerful defensive structure. This
inclusion of the third race represents the greatest change to the
C&C franchise since the days of C&C2, and was generally well
received by fans.
