Hey, I just played the Darkness 2 demo and really enjoyed it, and I may go pick up the Darkness tomorrow, so is it worth 8 bucks?

Yes. The shooting is kind of "meh" but the story is dark and gritty and fantastic. I think it was worth $60 when it came out. $8 is a great deal.

I played it for the first time a couple a months ago. Although I never finished the game (for some reason, I got really dizzy playing), what I did play was pretty good.

I loved it for the story, but yea, the gameplay is a bit meh. Id recommend skippin the subway side missions where possible unless youre really wanting to extend your playtime. They don't add a lot.

I usually don't do side missions in games anyway, but thanks for telling me

$8? You waste more than that on a crappy meal at McDonalds, but with The Darkness, you have something to show for it. Yes, it is.

I'm not sure. The demo of the second spoils the story of the first.

I really liked it when I played it though, I'd say get it at $8...if you don't care about the spoilers that is.

Yes, if you cant stand the game play (which is kind of meh, generic and some back tracking) just put it on easy and content tourist it (as Patrick says). It's worth it.

I replayed it recently and it is probably worth $8. Just don't expect it to be nearly as fun as the demo for the second one was. Starbreeze isn't exactly known for their quality gunplay. But the story is great, although you already know most of it just by playing the demo for the second one. And it has a good deal of atmosphere and some unique mechanics. It's not incredible, but probably worth $8.
