I've logged about 300 hours on Oblivion, and I came across a quest on the Shivering Isles that required me to drag and item, and I didn't know how. I checked the manual and it said to use the L2 button (on PS3). I couldn't believe that after 300 hours, I hadn't even realised that there was a drag button.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Game » consists of 31 releases. Released Mar 20, 2006
Travel the continent of Tamriel, defend the land against Oblivion's Daedra hordes, and help fill the empty throne of Cyrodiil in the fourth installment of the Elder Scrolls series.
Anyone else not realise there was a drag button?
I compulsively read the manual when I buy a new game so I knew. All I ever used it for was to make corpses dance though. Lugging loot back to town with it was more of a pain in the ass than it was worth.
That reminds me of how I didn't know about the wait button. I wasted so much time running around randomly.

I cant believe that you didnt know about the "wait button" Captn. And Dave, I knew about the drag button from the beginning of my quest. Doesnt help you at all.(Except maybe for that particular mission) But it goes to show how much better off you'll be when you read the manual!

"I knew about it. It was in the original gameplay trailers for the game. You guys don't remember how they'd show you dragging the chains, and picking up vases in the jail cell?Don't remember that at all...

Anyways when I found out about it I instantly went to my house and started organizing everything. My house was a mess.
Yeah I knew about the button. It's kinda fun actually. If I have a chest full of shield per say, then I take a particular nice looking shield and place it on top of it or something, so that it's all nice. It's not really that practical thought, and moving stuff around is somewhat difficult. I hope they improve on this for the next ES game. I like showing off special or unique quest items in my houses.
Be careful not to drag something when in someone's house/store...it's considered stealing for some reason. You can whack things around with a sword, but trying to help the owner remodel their place by dragging stuff around is apparently illegal. XD
Yep, stripping corpses of all their clothing and trying to set them up in sexual positions...the only way to play.
Don't gimme that look...

Like, "hey that's mine!" And if you put it down they forget about it. Just assuming its theft should be fixed in the next TES game.
