I've always wanted this game, but I never got around to getting it. I loved Fallout 3, so I thought I would like this. Anybody recommend it?
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Game » consists of 31 releases. Released Mar 20, 2006
Travel the continent of Tamriel, defend the land against Oblivion's Daedra hordes, and help fill the empty throne of Cyrodiil in the fourth installment of the Elder Scrolls series.
Should I get this?
Hell yes. You can get the GOTY edition for 30 bucks now and it is SO SO worth it. A bit slow to start but it gets so good.
Its even bigger than Fallout 3. Perhaps not as polished all around but its great. For sure worth a major recommendation. Especially if you like these types of games.
" Yes.It's awful at the beginning but get's so, so good. "
The main storyline of Oblivion is pretty awful, but the Guild quests make the game worth buying, imo.
" Depends on the system. I can't play vanilla oblivion. "
"@TheFreeMan said:Awful? I loved the whole thing! This is a game I would definitely recommend. Especially since you liked Fallout 3, I think you would enjoy it. Obviously the setting and story is vastly different but the game controls and plays pretty darn similarly. "" Yes.It's awful at the beginning but get's so, so good. "
Oh yeah Nate, grab the GOTY edition if you can. It's got extra stuff (expansion and quest) in it, and it's pretty much the same price (or maybe even less) as the normal game.
It felt like it took forever to get going, and frankly I just lost interest in the game completely...
" @natetodamax: I may be wrong, but I believe it comes with Knights of the Nine, and Shivering Isles. I loved the game myself. It's so worth it. "

"@natetodamax said:It comes with Knights of the Nine too...Shivering Isles is the only expansion with achievements. ;) ""@GamingReligion said:Looking at the achievements for it, it seem it just comes with Shivering Isles.
