Lock picks are used to open doors in Cyrodiil. Lock picking increases your security skill. If you fail to get the tumblers in the lock to the "up" position, the pick breaks, and you usually have to start over. Lock picks are fairly hard to find, but can be purchased if you are in the Thieves Guild, and can be found in crates or off of dead enemies.
