    oblivion:
oblivion for the pc is a good game, but not really a good rpg. the graphics are great and the audio and musical
score is so beautiful and serene and immersive, more so than the damn game. i think there is an element of quantity
over quality here, for example when you enter a place you see a npc there, just standing there doing nothing
which makes the game less realistic, along with fact there are no children in the game. the menus are tedious
and time consuming, forcing you to scroll through pages and pages just to find this particular quest, spell, item.
virtually every single quest gives you a map marker and full information how to complete it, which in my opinion
seems more like a walkthrough than a helpful guide. the levelling up system is tedious and awful forcing you to
stay somewhere secluded like for example keep on casting a healing spell to get your restoration skill up or by
striking mud crabs on high difficulty with a blade or blunt weapon to get particular skill up. rather than going
out having fun exploring and killing things like you should be doing. and there is a thing called progressive
levelling where when you level up so do items all over tamriel in caves, dungeons, etc and creatures which
basically means you never find anything terribly powerful or formidable, cause with that system you npc enemies
are always tough even if your on level 30 and got the difficulty slider on easy, and with that when you spend all
that time levelling up makes it seem all for nothing in the end cos your not neccessarily better that your enemies.
the weather patterns are bland and repetitive. you cant practically do anything when enemies are in your general
vicinity, you cant fast travel, wait, repair weapons which seems so silly. there are only about 5 voice actors in
the whole game, and considering there are loads of npcs in the game, this comes very tedious and frustrating.
considering you have to listen to a lot of npcs for information, rumors, quest hints. the magic menu is annoying
it takes you ages to scroll through pages upon pages just to hotkey a spell. the caves, shrines, dungeons, ruins,
are basically the same design. for example you go into a cave you kill this, kill that, collect this gold, armor,
key, and all the caves look the same, and so do all the forts to each other. between each cave they have subtle
differencies like placement and difference of enemies, items, layout, but in essence each cave is pretty much similar
to each other, and so does every other ruin to every ruin. and so many other places. with that is doesnt compel me to go travel and go explore because of the lack of difference and the fast travel makes you lazy, rather than travelling normally
while killing things and gaining experience it makes you makes lazy and you end up fast travelling to places. the
guilds are fun for a while, but i found myself just completing them cos i just wanted to feel like completing the
game. but with some quests i know the ending or turning point to it cause there are generally monotonous find the
npc, collect this rare item take it back and get gold for it. after completing most of the game apart from a few
deadric quests and maybe general side quests and the  some of the expansion packs you just get to use to it, and it ends up losing it mystery and sheer fun. i hate the fact the dramatic music comes on where theres a enemie nearby, which is helpful. and when you choose you race the only difference is the look of them, a few generic spells and some alignment modifiers with npcs. you cant see where an enemy is without a spell, which can get quite annoying. there are no insects or birds or
other natural mundane animals in the game, apart from a few wolfs, bears, deer which makes it even less realitistic.
and most of the potions in the shops are pointless and just so silly such an awful pointless game with some polished graphics and mass of content and thats it everything else in the game is really monotonous and tedious and futile. the main quest is bland collect this, collect that for martin. and there are a total of 50 oblivion gates to close.
and like the many caves, forts, camps, dungeons there have a slighty different layout and placement of items and
enemies but there are pretty much the same. and everything with the game feels forced and unnatural like the so many
elven ruins you get along with the caves and forts, they seem like ages and civilisations apart, and there are
squashed up on the map together. and there are so many of caves, dungeons, farms, ruins to visit it seems like the
developers didnt have the energy or enthusiam to do more engaging quests, so lets put loads of pointless places to
explore on the map. the quilds are quite similar to each other which gets slightly monotonous again. there are loads
of bugs in the game as well. and on the internet there are loads of mods and patches for the game, but if they made
everything right and fixed with the game, people wouldnt have to do that. and people say well it is a big game, well
i say dont take on that scale of a game if you cant handle it. and they bring that construction kit out to download
thats like we cant be bothered you do it. the places to visit are samey and generic and over time lose there mystery
cause basically you have seen it all before. the voice actors as well. the quests get predictable and tedious. the
deadric quests are frustrating and to behonest quite bland. the main quest again the same. the knights of the nine
expansion for the game is boring and annoying as well. the shivering isles seems fun but i just find myself not
compelled to play it. the npcs in the game just stand there repeating the same lines to each other, and it comes to
a point where you can finish their sentences. all they do is stand there. go into any cave or fort and use an
invisibility spell and sneak you spot them just doing nothing, which again makes the game seem less realistic and
fun. if the game was subdued on the quantity side maybe it would of had loads more memory to makes these things.
like rather than just standing there doing nothing maybe they can be sleeping or fighting or talking or eating.
the landscapes are beautiful but not very imaginitive loads of generic looking trees, hills, lakes, rocks, and the same sort of fantasy theme you see anywhere specifically different but generally the same. being a vampire is pointless just to get
some generic spells and some pumped up skills only to get burned in sunlight. there is no thunder or lighting in
the game i think. there are one type of fish in the game, there are no insects or birds or any other water type
creatures in the game, which makes this realisitic open ended detailed game not so realistic, open ended and detailed
after all. and everything just seems so put on and forces the clash of elven ruins with forts, people talking in
the street, just all of it. there are quite a few very fun quests and places to visit. talking to npcs is boring.
combat is pretty good but it just ends up to be button mashing. and all of the places to visit where you go seem to
all the same chests, and other general cosmetic items which makes it just plain silly. put it this way the only good
things about oblivion are the mass of content, some fun general and guild quests, the beautiful landscape views,
graphics and the beautiful musical score. and if i didnt have it on the pc and and wasnt able to use level cheats,
and some other stuff like plug-ins and mods i wouldnt even be playing this quite bad on the whole game. nothing
original about the game what so ever. and all the trees and grass and rocks and building textures are the same as
well. the main problems with the game are the levelling up and progressive system, the tedious and predictable
quests, the generic looking of all the caves with other caves, forts with forts etc. and the lack of realism such as
no children, no insects or birds and other animals and creatures, too few weather patterns, lack of voice actors,
a practically over tipful journal guide which makes it like a walkthrough. the fast travel system which makes you
lazy. the non superior levelled up character system. problems with bugs. and the general tedious element and the
predictability to virtually all the quests. and bland placement layouts. and the quantity over quality thing.
knights of the nine is tedious at best. and the pointless factor comes in to place as well, like places like for
example a farm you venture inside you talk to an npc and nothing it seems like whats the point to this place for
looks obviously. and that is exactly what this game is about, graphics in other words not originality, fun, game
play, storyline, none of the things that really matter. and the fact that even though you might be a high level
character you go into the shops in towns and cities and there are still low level weapons and armor they were
selling when you were at a low level. the knights of the nine expansion pack is really unimaginative and bland. all you do is pray at the these nine altars then go to nine different places on the map collect the all armor and and weapons and kill this farmil the unfeathered of whatever his name is and thats it it so bland and tedious. the shivering isles is a whole new map which makes it more compelling to play, with new weapons, quests, npc's, etc. the whole game is about player choice and character creation options but virtually everything in the game compells you to be good, like for example the main quest is for good characters and gives you fame points, virtually every single side quest in the game from npcs of wherever is a good characters thing. so if you an evil assassin for example it seems unrealisitic doing the main quest and saving all of tamriel if you are a evil vile character. and the figthers guild is meant for good characters and you cant join the blackwood company instead of them, the mages guild again the same formula you cant join the mythic dawn or necromancers, the thieves guild is meant for rogue/neutral characters. the only one meant for evil characters is the dark brotherhood which gets really repetitive half way through when you got to kill every single member in the cheydinhall sanctuary. it would be good if you had the choice of joining the figthers guild, mages guild, main quest, thieves guild, the blades, general side quests if your a good saint of a character, and the option of joining the dark brotherhood if your evil, which all of these you can join but as you have read all of these par from one are good in nature meant for good characters, it also would be great if you had more quests/guilds to do and join if you are evil like for example, the necromancers if your an evil mage, the vampire clans if you a vampire, the mythic dawn to go against the main quest.
but none of that in this pathetic excuse for a game, pathetic.

    oblivion: good things i like
    1. the graphics are a good quality
    2. the combat is accurate and precise
    3. everything is dumbed down but more accesible and user friendly a tad too much
    4. the musical soundtrack my favourite piece of music so immersive and serene
    5. the caves and other places are full of awe, mystery, and beauty but do get very repetitive and tedious quick

    bad things i dont like:
    1. the menus in the game are time consuming and tedious
    2. the main quest is quite tedious and the 50 oblivion gates to close are just a unimaginative time filler
    3. the landscape is beautiful but quite generic and practically seen loads of times before
    4. there are only like about 5 voice actors in the whole game
    5. the levelling up system is awful and frustrating
    6. its all about charatcer creation and player choice but you always compelled to be good, for example doing the main
quest is good and gives you fame points, the fighters guild is good and you cant join the blackwood company, the
mages guild is good and you get fame points for it, thieves guild is more for good/neutral characters again,
the only one is meant for evil is the dark brotherhood, you cant even join the mythic dawn, necromancers, vampire
clans. its not good this game.
    7. and virtually everything bad i just mentioned in the above long review

Oblivion is a really great RPG,but with a few issues as well. 0

want to make things clear from the beggining:the only Elder Scrolls game I had played before Oblivion was Morrowind. My experience with that games was about 1 hour.I mean,I can't say it wasn't a great game, considering the fact that it was released in 2002,but I didn't like it at all,it didn't sucked me in it at all.Maybe I wasn't the adept of an open-ended game, having played & replayed both Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic games, which gave a sense of freedom, but not exactly. To make thi...

This game is awful. It's a super-easy monotonous grind of identical quests and the most generic setting and characters you could imagine. The lack of imagination in this game is almost overwhelming. There is no freedom in this game. Oh, there's a vast uninteresting world to explore, you can do whatever quest you want in your own order. But we're not talking about freedom to do quests in whatever order you want, we're talking about real freedom to do whatever you want, which Oblivion severely lac...
