In Steam go to Library -> Tools, it is listed as Creation Kit.

High res textures is available at Skyrim's Steam page (link)

HRT Pack is taking forever, I usually get around 5-7 mb/s but I'm only getting 2 mb/s right now.

I watched the first two Creation Kit videos and although I've never modded a game, the Kit looks extremely intuitive and user-friendly so far. I can't wait to see what people come up with and hope the variety of Steam's mods rival Skyrim Nexus.

Not saying that pre-creation kit stuff was bad, but now shit is for real, yo. I wonder how long it will take for a crazy person to do Morrowind.

It didn't hurt my performance. As long as you have a reasonable modern graphic card with at least 1GB VRAM it will probably run fine.

Change the server you connect to for downloading in the Steam options to a server in a timezone where they would be sleeping right now. For example, Russia.

Technically you're getting slower peak speeds vs a closer server, but with their server being mostly inactive currently, you get near max speeds instead of crappy speeds on our servers during peak hours.

The High Res Texture pack is messing with some of my installed mods, like the weapons retexture pack, it's like the HRT Pack is overwriting thos files

That is expected and completely normal. Uninstall the weapon texture mod and wait for the dev to fix the compatibility.

Crap I ordered a physical copy of Skyrim cause it was $20 cheaper than on steam. But now I have to wait a week to play Skyrim with Nolan North in it. Damn you cruel world.
