I dont know whats so rewarding about these achievements... since they dont really offer much besides bragging rights, but i know most people like them and gives games some sort of replay value for people.
Oblivion for PC didn't have achievements, but thats probably because bethesda didn't bother adding them after the original PC & 360 launch back in 06.
So yea... do you want steam achievements in skyrim?

Why not? They don't do any harm, and Steam has the least invasive achievements of all time, there's no noise, and the indicator is really small once you get to 1080p and higher resolutions.
I couldn't care less about achievements, so I don't care either way. But sure, why not? Most people seem to like them :)
" I really don't care about Achievements, which is why I like Steam achievements
Is it just me, or does that comment make absolutely no sense at all?
I'll probably end up playing one of the console versions since I doubt very much if my laptop will be able to run this game, but it would be cool if more games offered cross-platform achievements like Portal 2 did.

"Yeah, I meant to say that they don't have gamerscore attached to them. Guess the website ate half my post.
" Steam achievements means Steamworks support, and I'm all about Steamworks, so sure. "This. I love it when people can't see the big picture, yet bash Achievements because "they ruin the game!!!". Steamworks is awesome: Cloud saving, Steam's own DRM (which is miles better than other "options" out there), leaderboards and statistics, etc. And I personally love me some Achievements in my games. When I'm in the mood of unlocking them, they add replay value to a game I've purchased. When I don't feel like it, no one's forcing me to get them, which is something people very often forget.
I use achievements as an in-game To-Do list and a bonus activity. On the console, it helped me discover the faction quests in Oblivion IV, which provided 70+hours of value.
