So yeah, I'm gonna be getting a new gaming PC pretty soon, and I realized that I've got two platforms primed for playing this game.

Some things to consider: my tv is 32-inch LCD with beautfiul color. My desktop monitor is 19-inch LCD, with beautiful color and is also 16:10, 1440x900.

    Suggestions, GO!

PC for the sole reason of custom content and other mods. The graphical upgrade and variety of input methods are just the icing on the cake.

edit: Just get a long HDMI cable and a wireless 360 receiver for your PC and play the game on your big screen.

Just make sure to get a videocard that has an HDMI out, which most new ones should nowadays. Beware though, HDMI cables have a lot of wires in them to risk going bad. My long 50 foot HDMI cable (that I bought from a different website) has a weird vsync issue and has constant page tearing. But it's not so noticeable as long as I force vsync on all programs on the PC, which keeps it from showing two tears at a time. But I just think I got a shitty cable.

I don't have total confidence in my computer, and I don't want to have to buy it twice like I did with Black Ops. but if you are 100% confident in it, no question PC.

PC, but just play it on your 19" monitor. The effective size is bigger because you're closer, and the monitor is actually probably higher resolution than the TV.

Anyone with a machine that can run Skyrim should buy it on PC. This isn't even an option.

You don't tell us anything about your actual PC specs so we can't really give you a straight answer.   And whether your willing to upgrade or not if it by chance looks like it won't run the game well.   Just get the xbox version if your PC is like 5 years old or something.

Im getting it for 360 because my PC isn't worth gaming on but if you have a rig that can run it better than the 360 then its a no brainer get the PC version. When I upgrade my PC ill be getting it for it then mostly for the mods.

That's funny. Damn, those screenshots remind me of just how much more immersive Morrowind is compared to Oblivion. If only half my attacks didn't pass right through the enemy.

Who does that and is also a gamer? And by "old parts" they'd have to be pretty old to not meet this generation of console's (which this game is built upon) minimum specs. Preeatty, Prreeeaaatty, Prrreeeeaaaaattttyy, Pretty old.

I feel like people pimping the mods have too much time.  It took me two summers to finish Oblivion and after that I had no interest in playing it again.  I personally like playing stuff on consoles, but that's just me.  You look less insane when you're not hunched over your pc for days at a time.

I own both versions of the last two ES games, actually. Bought both on Xbox first, and somehow ended up with the PC versions of each later on. I may in fact actually get it for both, considering PC has mods, and 360 has achievements.

@GreggD: Oblivion was one of the first games I bought for 360 and I couldn't wait to play it. I found it to be terrible because of so many problems and annoyances. I was unable to enjoy it like I always wanted to. Everyone tells me I should have played it on PC instead, but I don't play PC games.

I think this is an easy one if your rig can max out Skyrim then you get it for PC, if it can't and it's going to be the same as 360 in looks I'd still get it for PC, and if your rig can barely run it then again it's an easy one you get it for 360. I mean really this is quite simple why are people making it more complicated.
