I've been looking forward to the next game in the Elder Scrolls series for around four years. Now that I've given Steam my money for it, I feel a pleasant contentedness.

I was holding out for CE details, and now that we know it is a very expensive bundle featuring a dorktacular dragon statue and a (probably pretty sweet) art book, and no Pocket Guide to the Empire, I just went ahead and purchased it through Steam.

So I'll get a sweet new hat for the Heavy too, which is great. Maybe I'll buy the art book on Ebay or something later.

Anyway, if you've already put your cash on the barrel head and breathed a sigh of relief, go ahead and add your thoughts.

Skyrim is my most anticipated game of this year, but I haven't pre-ordered it and I don't plan to. I don't really understand it. Giving your money now for something that you won't recieve for months? I guess it you are absolutely awful with your money, it might feel good to lock it in so you know you won't do something stupid later, but...I don't get it. If it pleases you, though, more power to you.

The wait until release wont feel good.

You forgot about the TF2 loot, and as an fan of TF2 and fine hats, that cannot be overstated.

@Stahlbrand: Oh I didn't forget about the hat. I just think it's garbage. I rarely play TF2 anymore, and when I do it's straight 24/7 2fort. That's the only part of the game I enjoy. The hats are literally worthless to me.

Meh I haven't even pre ordered it yet. I figure with all the bugs coming out it'll be worth just picking up BF3 and waiting out for the first big patch for Skyrim

@Questionable: The main advantage of pre-ordering a digital game comes in the week before release when you can pre download it so you can play as soon as it comes out. This is why I shall not be pre-ordering until a week before release...

I'm just gonna wait until it isn't 90 fucking dollars and then we'll see.

I want the art book as well, but I don't want to fork out $200AUD for the Collector's Edition and I would have no room for the dragon statue. :/

Don't really see the need to pre order it. But good for you.

I don't think about it as 'pre-ordering' a network-distributed game*, I think about it more like ordering it from Amazon - you pay first, and then wait for shipping.

As a bonus for ordering early, I get a dope TF2 hat, which is to me a value-add, as it combines two games I love already.

For my own part, I have been rumour-mongering this game for more than a year now - watching people trawl trademark filings and find 'Skyrim' and other thin signs and portents - and since the game's official confirmation, I have been looking forward to making my ownership of it a concrete fact. The Elder Scrolls are my #1 franchise to follow.

*all games are digitally distrubted, unless they're pressing games to analog vinyl LPs, it is a digital medium.

Lost my debit card so cant order through steam feels bad man :( i'll probably just pick it up from game on release day cannot. wait. 

I felt the same way, I had Skyrim pre-ordered as soon as I could. But now that I have the CE pre-ordered and set I feel like I can just sit back soak up everything Skyrim that comes my way till Nov. 11 and enjoy the fact that soon I be playing a game I and many others have waited 5 years to play.

yeah, it's very attempting. but I won't buy RPG anymore in this year. plus, I preordered few games already. I won't be missed this game at all. anyway, you guys will enjoy it so much.

I only put down a 10$ deposit. But now that I know I technically own it, I feel great! I actually felt more hyped when I got back from the store than when I left.
