You will be missing out on the fun! But I do understand the disappointment of how they are handling that. I do think they may be simplifying things too much but I want to wait to pass judgment.

" http://gameolosophy.com/games/15-reasons-why-skyrim-will-be-awesome-latest-news-on-skyrim/Fuck you. Read all of it. The Attributes never made the game complicated." "Howard noted that the eight original character attributes from previous Elder Scrolls games have been condensed into three: magica, health, and stamina."This is exactly what I did not want, it is too simplified. R.I.P Bethesda"
Did you read how perks were added? THAT ALONE makes the game more complex than Oblivion. On top of that, the combat has become much more complex (no longer a simple back pedal and fireball or block and attack twice cycle), with dual wielding, combining spells, and shouts. The skills will also branch, from what I've heard, allowing for more customization and depth.
On top of that, the dungeons will be crafted with much more skill (by level designers rather than artists), the quest system will allow for the game to to make sure you get a much wider content experience, and the relationships you have with NPC's, based on your actions rather than a silly little skill that you get up by playing an annoying mini-game, have actual ramifications. If they like you, you'll be forgiven if you mess with their stuff. If they hate you, they might pull a sword on you rather than call for the guards.
Stop reading one little fucking fact and whining. And find out why they are doing that.
And if you were being sarcastic, a double fuck you to you. What a waste of a thread. If not, this is tough love. Get the fucking game, or don't, but don't act like the game is going to be a piece of shit for some unimportant factor being removed.
Also, customization, dawg.
I'm buying the special edition , or collectors edition oh and I'll be buying this for PS3 and PC. (keep in mind I have no PS3 nor a PC that could run this.) But those are just minor issues.

On the outset, yes, removing stats does seem like simplifying the game a bit, but if you look at the bigger picture and see what they're actually adding to the character growth system -- the perks -- then there's going to be a lot more choice for a player overall. They're removing some aspects that barely have any effect, or just supplementary effects to the skills, and replacing it with something with a lot more potential for customization.
Taking away choice is never good for the player, only for the developer's payroll. "
Agreed. In order to have a good character at higher levels, the stat system in Oblivion forced a playstyle that was completely bizarre and unnatural - I mean, unless you really like summoning hundreds of skeletons in a row and jumping everywhere while you do it. Are these the same people who actually enjoyed the convoluted armor/weapon/fucking grenade mods in Mass Effect? I always felt ambivalent about Oblivion because of how its incredibly stupid and overwrought stat/leveling system got in the way of the gameplay and exploration (not to mention the awkward, wooden npcs, horrible generic dungeons and etc). And I just can't get behind a game that I don't feel is playable until it's been modified.
Buy the PC version and wait for someone to MOD this shitty game into something extravagant, like Morrowind. :)
Sounds good to me. Seriously, I was so lost with all that stuff in Oblivion. Just way too much going on.
I like to think of complexity as a sandwich. You don't want just ham on your sandwich, as that'd be boring. However, you don't want peanut butter, ham, onions, steak, candy corn, and lettuce on your sandwich either.
To me, Oblivion was a ham sandwich with expired cheese, some onions, lettuce, mustard, and some ranch. There was some stuff to love, but you had to pick around a lot of crap to get to it.
This post has given me a great idea for a website, in which I review every game I play in sandwich terms.
I will also not be buying Skyrim... but not because of your incredibly retarded reason.

Speaking of retarded, dude... that avatar. Really?
Love it!! People bashed DA2 before it was out about how they streamlined stuff, made the game more action based, and people jumped the the gun and said the same things that are being said in this forum. LoL. That one came out and it was slammed for it.
That same thing, is not really happening hear cause we know jack and shit about the leveling system in the game. im sure the game will be great or at least look great...but this topic and reading the reply's made me remember DA2.
This happens every year with one major sequel or a other lol.
