No.
Other games wait for Skyrim.
Game » consists of 30 releases. Released Nov 11, 2011
Here's the real question: I could not for the life of me get into Oblivion and hated everything about its execution. Any chance I'll like Skyrim?

Probably not, but I guess anything is possible.
@MormonWarrior: Gonna say 'nope'.
Find another game, this looks like Super Oblivion, which is fantastic IMO, but it isn't going to convert people who disliked Oblivion.

There are so many games coming out that month and while I was so tempted to go with this but I know that if I wait 6 months then I get all of the awesome dlc that they'll make as a bonus.
I see what your saying and no doubt there will be a GOTY edition and it will save your monies , but dude, its been 4 years and well its Skyrim, nuff said
I could never wait on a game like Skyrim, but I will probably also buy the GOTY edition, and the 5 year anniversary edition in 2016.
For me, no. This is one of those games where I just gotta have it right away. I have eagerly been anticipating this game for a long while now. I know that in terms of money I spend vs the money someone else spends, they will end up getting a lot more for less... but value is in the eye of the beholder. To me it is worth the $60 premium to play this game from the get go and piecemeal the DLC I want into it. I know it will cost me a lot more in the end than someone who waits for the GOTY edition but like I said, I can't wait. This and Diablo 3 are about the only games I absolutely can't wait for :D
I've got the patience of a hand grenade so no, I won't be waiting for a GOTY edition. Aside from that I've got no problems paying for the game and any good DLC piecemeal. It will cost me more money, but that's okay because it's more money for Bethesda to make more great games with.
I've been gaming on a two- to three-year delay recently, because my interest waned heavily a while ago and it's just now starting to wax again, though it's likely to never return to its original fever pitch.
Short answer: I will wait not only until the GOTY edition comes out, but also until I can get the whole package for less than thirty dollars during a Steam sale.
I have no willpower so I know I'll cave long before the game comes out. Plus I loved Oblivion and Fallout 3 so much that I can't stay away from another game that will consume my life into early next year.
I'm expecting it in a year to year and 3-4 months honestly. I could see it earlier if November is crazy. I sorta wanna wait cause I'm tired of getting burned on Bethesda games... However I'll be leaving my system at home when I leave for college so.. Not sure.
I often have the same compulsion with games that I know are going to get lots of content-based DLC that I might enjoy, but in this case, I'm interested enough in the base game and eager enough to play it that the appeal of the DLC (and, in turn, waiting for it) is insubstantial by comparison. I already have Skyrim preordered.
Haha. Well said. An apt response to the whole phenomenon of DLC.... I don't need to buy a game until they actually finish it.
If you don't have a burning raging boner for all things Bethesda like I do, then yes it does make more sense to wait for a year (and that's a year at least, definitely not 6 months) to get the same game with added content for a cheaper price. I'm sure between now and whenever the GOTY version comes out a ton of great games will come out to keep you preoccupied.
