Red X's on map

#1 Posted by thehideousshrew (207 posts) -

On the canvas map I got with my copy of Skyrim there are several small red X's dotted around. I have investigated the locations and found nothing. Anyone know what these are, if anything?

Dragon burial sites?

Aren't those the dragon burial sites? You get an in game version of the map later on.

There is nothing in the areas at all, as far as I can tell. Doesn't correspond to Dragon graves.

Standing stones if I recall right.

How many of them are there?

Those are the birth stones

Don't think so. One or two of them are near Standing stones but if so then there isn't one for the Serpent Stone, to the north-east of Winterhold.

Give us a solid number. That'll probably be the best clue.

ther are 13, which does match the number of standing stones, but they don't appear to be in the right places, if that's the case. Some of them are near but some are way, way off.

Ok. They are points of interest. Important stuff.

There are 13 ritual stones. The red X's on the premium map show where those 13 stones are. On a path south of Riverwood, there are 3 stones no farther than 2 meters apart and on the map those 3 are represented by one X which means there are only 11 Xs on the whole map.

Consider yourself armed with knowledge.

I thought that would be where the treasures are but apparently I'm wrong.

@Kyreo: But there are 13 X's and 3 of the stones share the same location.

People on Beth forums say its just points of interest.

@The_Laughing_Man: Seems likely. Just thought maybe I was missing something. I'll revist them all once I get a buch of treasure maps just in case though.
