Just wanted to post this piece of art. This kind of makes me smile :)

I actually don't think this means anything in terms of sales. But who cares? It's cool anyway.

The original Counter-Strike has more players than TF2? Now that is amazing.

The most interesting thing is that counter strike is only 17k short of MW3 players. I love the PC Community.......we never let a good thing go.

Yeah... I can't grasp my mind around peoples love for original counter-strike. What the hell is up with that? Is it old faithful players or does it actually adopt new gamers (sounds weird).

That game is huge outside of the US. And it's really good.

My guess would be old players most likely getting their friends and family into it perhaps? Then again every time CS comes into conversation among friends they all revert to 1.6 being the best.

Had to wikipedia 1.6 to know what you meant. It still even seems to be a big e-sports game? And it was released 1999??? Oh my..!

One is a management simulation and one is a live action sports game.

It's like saying people play Starcraft because they don't know Mass Effect.

Football manager is the game that I yearly put the most time in, it's an amazing timesink, and perfect for class because I can play yet follow the lecture at the same time.

It's just a joke you know... cause only the frail of heart would skip the game for the minutia of the game. This is why I never get sports.

Meeeeh, there's a pretty fleshed out manager component to modern Fifa games. If you want to trade players and simulate every match, you can... right? Fotball Manager seems thorougly obsolete. But I guess 50.000+ people think differently, so I'll shut up.

Wonder how well BF3 would do in that statistic. Should be on second place or so. Last I heard there's like a 150k active players at all times.

FIFA's management has always been very light. Football Manager goes extremely in depth. There is really no comparison between the two. If you want a football management game, you play FM.

Thats probably why I picked up baseball management for like a dollar on steam and instantly was over whelmed and basically never played it again. That could also be because I hate sports, strange I know.

By the way, to anyone who doesn't use a PC or Steam and don't know about this (quite big posibility I guess). The screenshot is from the "total player count" worldwide on Steam (for the personal computer system). This does NOT take in account any console players or people who haven't registered their game on Steam. So, this might only tell that TES is bigger on PC than CoD. But nevertheless, 250.000 players is a pretty huge number on one single game for steam (I'm not wrong am I?).

If nothing else, this proves that PC and long ass RPG:s are far from over... and we shall all rejoice.

@Christoffer: I think the fact that it supports Steamworks means that you "have to" register your game with Steam to be able to play it. :) But you are right about more than 270.000 players playing one game "at the same time" (there are more) being impressive, it's something I've never seen on Steam before... I do look at stats every now and then.
