The fifth installment in Bethesda's Elder Scrolls franchise is set in the eponymous province of Skyrim, where the ancient threat of dragons, led by the sinister Alduin, is rising again to threaten all mortal races. Only the player, as the prophesied hero the Dovahkiin, can save the world from destruction.
Huh. Well, as a PC player I have to wait for this DLC anyway, this means I will just... still get it as soon as it comes out. Seriously, I had fun with spears in Morrowind, but I don't have to have them back. And getting to use spears as arrows? That is fucking awesome.
You 360 folk get the DLC a month before the rest of mortalkind. We PC folk get spears modded into the game whenever we want. Everything has its ups and downs.
But, yeah, it's a tremendously stupid thing to complain about.
Had they been advertised by the devs as actual spears, this would have been a bigger deal. But now, there's no reason to complain: at least you can use them! Besides, PC modders will get people-sized spears if that hasn't already happened.
I guess I'll forget that I've had a ton of fun with this dlc and demand a refund.
Because there weren't spears.
Haha, so true. Such a great piece of content and this is what people are complaining about? Boggles the mind.

And what an incredibly useless comment. Do you and the other "gamers" on here have nothing else to talk about?
It's ironic that you bitch about their bitching. No wonder I don't go on this shithole of a site anymore.
@Ulain: oh come on now. The site is decent but the forums arent good I agree. Im pretty sure this kind of stuff is peppered across the internet. These forums are the same as the rest.

Doesn't that make you bitching about people bitching about people bitching even more ironic?
Don't let they front door hit you on the ass on your way out.
Yeah pretty stupid. Probably because they couldn't make the animations realistic. Attacking with a spear in Morrowind looked idiotic. A lot of games get the attacks wrong. Disappointing that they are just arrows, weak arrows at that but I'm sure the rest of the DLC makes up for it.
Welp... I haven't been following this too closely, did they ever actually say "HEY, this new dlc has spears!" or was it just the community putting stuff together? Because if they said it themselves, holy shit they should have known better.
While the spears as arrows thing is pretty lame, nobody at Bethesda ever let on that the DLC would feature spears as distinct weapon type. All the speculation came about from people digging into the pre-dlc patch files and seeing references to animations for spears. Cue people becoming excited that spears would finally be back in the series after a ten year hiatus. As we know now these animations are used by the Riekling enemies, something that not many people realized back in November when all the rumors and hearsay began to spread about.
Meh, no big deal. There are several mods that add spears, so it doesn't matter (too bad for you XBOX players, NO MODS FOR YOU), and who doesn't love the rieklings?
